Had a good experience at the hotel and was a good location to areas of interest.

We had a 3 person room on the 8th floor. The room was comparable in size to an American hotel with 2 twin beds and a full size pullout bed. The beds were very comfortable, the room was very clean, the water pressure was very good, and the ac kept the room chilly even on hot July days. The rooftop pool was comfortable with a good view of the city and a nice bar. The location was within a 25 min walk to Rambla through good neighborhoods, the Metro is right outside the main entrance and there is an good selection of restaurants & markets nearby Parallel Avenue. The only problem we had was the stall shower had clearly been leaking above the ceiling tiles for a long time without repair making the stall shower unusable. We will stay here again the next time we are in Barcelona.

good location, next to the Parall el metro station which connects with several lines. Direct line to the airport (kind of, take the green line to the end then transfer to the orange which takes you to the airport with minimal stair climbing lugging around suitcases, about thirty minutes to the airport). Hotel had good wifi, room was satisfactory. Convenience store next door which we ended up going couple times a day for kleenex, little snacks, etc so everything was pretty comfortable. Staff upon arrival gave us a detailed map about what to do, which neighborhoods she recommended, that was nice.

This hotel is very close to many things to see and do in Barcelona. There is a metro stop just 50 feet from the hotel where you can easily get almost everywhere in Barcelona. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet is one of the best I've seen and in a beautifully designed room. I would recommend and i will return to this hotel.

While this hotel is not "downtown" there are plenty of great restaurants and bars in the area. La Rambla was an easy 10-15 minute walk away.

We stayed in Barcelona for eight nights so we had a full 7 days to really explore the city. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were helpful with maps, directions, and recommendations. They even printed out tickets to various attractions in advance for us. It was as though we had our own tourist information center on hand.

The location was great, walkimg distance from Gothic Quarter, Born area, and other go to spots!

Very nice area close to La Rambla and train, awesome rooftop bar/pool where you could see all of Barcelona. The room was nice, coffee was a plus.

We were welcomed at reception and treated like family from the entire staff at The Barcelona Universal Hotel. The location is a short walk to the Metro and not far from the main attractions of Barcelona. I would stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend.

GOOD HOTEL NEAR ALL ATTRACTIONS AND TRANSPORTATION. METRO WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE HOTEL. STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL.BECAUSE I'M A SOLO TRAVELER I NEED TO KNOW I WILL BE SAFE WHEN OUTDOORS

The people at the restaurant where not very kind and helpful, on the contrary the desk people where very helpful and nice. the location is good and the price to. would recommend it

Great location with excellent customer service with friendly Staff. Will recommend to friends and will return some day.

Rooms small but very comfortable bathrooms modern and breakfast terrific we would stay there when we go back to Barcelona

Had no idea about Barcelona, just picked this hotel for review, location and value. We scorred. The rooms are amazing, so clean so comfy. Location was good if you like the walk. We like it as it isn't on the ramblas Staff was so helpful. Rooftop wasn't open but will be soon. We would stay again for sure

the location is 20 minuts walk from the ramblas action and not so great

Great location. You can walk to most places, or use metro right in front of the hotel. Will come back and stay again for sure.

This was a very nice place to stay in Barcelona. It was the end of our cruise and the beginning of some time on our own. As with all of our picks, this hotel gave us excellent accommodations at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the pool on the roof. The view from up there was terrific. The internet station in the lobby was very fast. The men behind the desk gave us a good tip on a fabulous flamenco dinner-show. They also helped us find the best route to the airport. Across the street was a very good and well known snack shop where we enjoyed a light meal.

The hotel was nice and in a good location for a lot of the sites around town. The only disadvantage was parking which cost 25 euros a day extra.

We loved this hotel!! The location was perfect! It was very quiet but just a couple of blocks from Las Ramblas. The room was extremely clean and very modern!! We definitely would stay here again and would highly recommend it!!

We where in this hotel six nights, the people there are great, welcoming and fun, some of them would like to take them home, my wife doesn't agree...... Seriously, is the place we can come back, elegantly design, functional elegant place a round pleasure Not sure about the area, but there is a train practically at the door, and in minutes you can be anywhere The subway in barcelona, is clean, confortable and for sure, very quick, and especially easy to use David
