We were delighted to be assigned a wonderful room right at the top floor. It has a large patio with commanding views of the city. Noise was not an issue as we are city dwellers who are accustomed to the hustle and bustle of city living. The room is clean and neatly decorated. Some parts seem to require a little bit of refurbishment but overall, it is very acceptable for its tariff. It would have been perfect if we had coffee, tea and hot water provisions in the room. Nevertheless, there were many great food establishments in its vicinity that serve up great Tapas. Grocery stores are also right next door. The location is great, within walking distance to major attractions and we appreciate that it is at a quieter corner of the city, away from the massive crowds at La Ramblas. Overall, we had an enjoyable 5 night stay and we are looking forward to return to this beautiful city with our family members next June!

Arrived at the hotel early in the morning after a long flight from the US. Expected to have to wait till 3pm for check-in but was pleasantly surprised that our room was ready. We were thrilled (this never happens!). Great location - by the Gothic area, Born across the street, the beach a short walk. Tons of restaurants in the area. Hotel is located on a busy street but the noise didn't bother us at all. Only down size was poor lighting in the bathroom. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner etc as their products were poor quality. Staff was very helpful and I would gladly stay again!

Classic building, very well-converted. The rooms are boutique-small, but extremely clean and modern. Very comfortable. Much better than the photos. Convenient to the old city center on a fantastic square.

This was the best of 4 hotels, we stayed at while on the same trip. From the start the staff was friendly and very helpful about locating good tourist spots and how to navigate the city. The location is perfect walking distance to the beach, zoo, aquarium and more. The room was very modern, clean and efficient with a lot of space and a big pulse was the hotel was quiet. It was a nice bar/lounge sitting area and a breakfast that had to be paid for but for 12euros it was worth it. Would defiantly stay there again!

This wasn't our booked hotel but we were upgraded after our original hotel over booked us. Clean, pleasant and very cheerful staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Although our room faced a wall we were not disappointed as we'd booked a hotel as a base and this meant it was quiet. Air conditioning and loved the decor. For our inconvenience, they included our breakfast. I don't think I would have paid to have breakfast there but we very much appreciated the grand gesture after a shaky and stressful start to our holiday. Fantastic location and loved hearing the Cathedral bells from our room. walking distance to the beach and Barceloneta and about a 4 minute walk to the metro stop Jaume. Would come back! Thank you for all your courtesy.

The location is good. The hotel is nice. Personel very helpful and friendly. Rooms are quite small. Some with nice view, other without any view. We did not hear the street, but the room was facing a wall. So no view.

The staff were very helpful. The room was large and clean w/ free internet. Walking distance to several attractions and metro.restaurants nearby served excellent paella and tapas.Good for the money.Would stay again.

The hotel was very modern and nice. You had to pay an extra approx. $15 per person for a soso breakfast. The shower did not have a door, but just half a glass wall, so if the water was on high, it sprayed on the bathroom floor. But it looked good. The location was fairly convenient, but since I don't know the town, it was hard for me to judge.

Fab location, great rooms with terrace. However a little noisy (expected in prime location), the breakfast was below average although it did include cava. Near the marina, beach, la rambles and other key spots.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a week long stay at Hotel Colonial Barcelona. Everything was great, we were lucky enough to be in a room on the 6th floor and had a lovely balcony that we could sit and enjoy the sun. The hotel is on a busy road which is noisy but this is to be expected as you are right in the city centre. Based in the gothic quarter you are close to the port, Las Ramblas and all the small winding streets to explore which have more authentic restaurants etc. The staff in the hotel are a real credit to the hotel, the reception/porters team have excellent English and nothing was every too much trouble. We cannot comment on breakfast as we stayed on room only basis, however I can say that there are two cafe/restaurants just yards from the hotel front door which we frequented most mornings which were fab. The only reasons I can't award an excellent rating are that; The hotel bar lacks any form of atmosphere and as such is very quiet and, The noise of slamming doors throughout our stay. While this is not the hotels fault as it was the guests leaving doors to slam it did wake us on several occassions early in the morning. Possibly advising guests that the doors do make a lot of noise when left to shut themselves would be beneficial. All in all though a fantastic stay and should we return to Barcelona again we would most certainly stay again.
