The daytime front desk staff was great - the evening front desk staff was barely polite. My single room was tiny. My bed was hard as a rock and I did not sleep well. Breakfast was very good, worth the money. Excellent location, very nice for walking. I might stay here again, if I could not find anything else.

Excellent stay and perfect location; very knowledgeable and helpful staff; super clean and very comfortable rooms. Steps away from great restaurants and shopping, and of course sites, and the beach. We have found a gem and will definitely return to this hotel next time we are in Barcelona.

Very good location to move easily around Barcelona

The hotel doesn’t have separate HVAC systems in each room, so we were only able to turn heat on since we were there in December - we didn’t have the option of turning on AC even though our room was extremely warm. The hotel doesn’t have many rooms with queen sized beds, we were given a room with two twin beds even though we reserved a queen through orbitz. We were told we could switch to a room with a queen bed, but it would be a much smaller room than what we were in... we declined because our current room was already super small. Also, no iron or ironing board in the room.

I stayed in a single room. Ask for an interior room so you can get a quiet night of sleep. Other than that the room was fantastic bright, cheerful, quaint, small but very organized and the bed was super comfortable. The shower was great as well. You can't beat the location and the staff was fantastic. My only complaint is that the room smelled a little musty upon my entrance, but I covered the drainage hole under the sink with the trash can and the smell went away

The Staff was extremely helpful, polite & we were able to check in early which was a plus after a long trip. The hotel is quite basic but it was clean & most importantly centrally located to everything we wanted to see.

The room was very clean, with a cleaning service everyday. It was large and had a very big bathroom for what we were used to in Europe. The front desk staff spoke english very well and were able to help us with bus schedules. The room felt very secure with a safe (large enough for my laptop) and having to be buzzed in the front door of the hotel at night.

First, the staff were very nice and very helpful. Location is good, and felt safe. Hotel half way betw La Rambla and Via Laietana on narrow Carrer Ample. Lots of tapas restaurants, minimarts, giftshops, & 2 Irish bars within 3 or 4 blocks in both direction. They either have heat or A/C based on seasonal calendar (you don't get to choose). They did give us a fan, which helped. Windows don't have screens. Hallways need re-painting, but lobby is newly renovated. Rooms are ok. Rates seem high for what you get, even with the nicest staff.

Ok, be warned, the room just fits the bed and two nightstands. The bathroom is also tiny! That said, the location is pretty good (busy, but close to nice bars, venues, etc. - and you don't hear anything during the night really). Staff was friendly.

I have mixed opinions about this hotel - great price, FABULOUS location, but bed bugs and insolent staff made for an iffy stay. The gentleman who checked us in was downright rude. No polite smile, no welcome, simply a request to see our paperwork and passports. Our room was on the front of the hotel, with a small balcony overlooking the quaint street running in front. We were pleased with the look of the room - it appeared clean, but we were in for a big surprise. Coming off of a 24 hr. flight the first thing we did was hit the sack. Too bad the bars right outside were about to open their doors and remain open until 5am! Because the streets are so narrow and the buildings so tall, anything taking place in the street below echoes loudly. We got absolutely no sleep that first night and were not only exhausted in the morning, but covered with BED BUG BITES! We promptly asked the front desk to move us. We were switched to a much quieter room but the bed bug issue had us somewhat concerned. However we were not bit the rest of the week and so it must've just been that room. Next time I'll be sure to pull back the bedspread/sheets and examine things before climbing in. This hotel couldn't be better for location though. It's a 5 minute walk to La Rambla, there are great little restaurants right on the street, a small store with necessities, an ATM, etc. Tour buses can be found at the end of the street and amazing restaurants await in the winding alleyways behind the hotel. For the price and location I would pick this hotel again. The staff left something to be desired, but in the big scheme of things we weren't in the hotel long enough or often enough for it to matter.

We stayed overnight here prior to taking a Mediterranean cruise. The hotel is simple, clean best attribute is the location near La Rambla and the water. If you don't mind evening noise from the bar across the street, then a room with a juliet balcony overlooking the little narrow street is what you want. Otherwise, get a room inside overlooking a courtyard, much quieter. Decent value.

The hotel was very nice and clean. The location was convenient as well-- Close to both Las Ramblas and the ocean. Be aware that the "double bed" is actually two twins together.

Hotel was great. Taxi drivers are not familiar with location, as is on small street in old section. Outside is deceiving. Hotel updated, tile and glass bathroom w/bidet. NO A/C, No view of city etc. Clean, smells fresh. TV is sooo small, little portable unit. Desk staff speak English. Pay for breakfast buffet, good value. Walking distance to Las Ramblos, and the Marina/Waterfront. Close to great restaurants, Metro, train, overall good place. Stayed before and after a cruise. Would go back.

We spend one night after cruise, so location near port and La Rambla (main street) were perfect. Bus from port cost 4 euro per person to downtown (10 min), and then another 5 min walking to hotel. Room is very basic, but it was OK with us since we stay only one night.
