We have stayed in many different hotels throughout the world including several in Barcelona and this has to rate as one of the worst. The room was the size of a broom cupboard and the bed was the smallest double we have seen. The fixtures and fittings in the room were tired and worn, including loose light fittings ! No face flannels, no soap or shower gel. I nearly broke my neck slipping in the shower. Quilt was stained and ripped. Mat on floor slipped, probably due to the Lino, yes the hotel room had Lino! Whilst we were here building work was occurring, we went to reception to complain as we needed a sleep after long travel and staff just shrugged and said no one else had commented........not my problem. Breakfast cold and boring. We would not stay here again if it was free,,, and this is the first time in my 55 years I have felt the need to complain in this way.
Had a lovely stay at this hotel. 5 minutes’ walk from metro station, 15 minutes’ walk from Passeig de Gracia station. Hotel reception area was very bright and modern, staff very helpful. On check in a glass of cava was offered which was a nice touch. Rooms are comfortable. Some of our party had standard rooms but the superior rooms offer a little more space. The room we had overlooked the swimming pool which was lovely however you couldn’t really open the curtains to appreciate the view as the room backed on to flats and the residents of the flats could see straight in. There were tea and coffee facilities in the room however there was no milk and on phoning reception we were advised that if we wanted milk delivering to us it would be at our cost or we could pop downstairs and get some from the bar at no cost. Milk is not left in the rooms due to expiry dates, never had that before and we are all well travelled. We hadn't booked breakfast as part of our reservation however we did decide to have breakfast on our last day and to be honest for the cost (12 euro’s) it was not worth it. There wasn’t enough bacon, eggs, mushrooms, bread, plates, and dishes and there were only 2 staff on and they were rushed off their feet (albeit they did a great job). We had to ask for the staff to replenish all of the breakfast and even then it didn’t all come out in time. When the hot food came out of the kitchen it was cold. Would still recommend this hotel but just be mindful of the above. The hotel will store your bags for you which is always a bonus if you arrive early/leave late.
Good hotel but needs small improvements. Sofa at the reception area was ripped, which wasn't very nice considering it's a 4* hotel. Also bathroom needed a bit of modernising. Reception staff were excellent! We were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and our room was upgraded to superior with no extra charge! We thought it was a perfect start to our few days in Barcelona. We also received good recommendations on the local restaurants and activities. Staff was very knowledgable and very helpful. Although our room was upgraded to a superior room, it was fairly small but nice with modern decor and it had all the essentials. The cleanliness I would score 8 out of 10 ( bathroom needed more attention and table mats at breakfast were sticky and in need of good clean!). We chose this hotel due to its location and we were not disappointed. Walking distance to main attractions (5-10 min walk to La Ramblas and 15-20 min walk to Sangrada Familia). Breakfast selection was good, lots of cold and hot food choices. Overall it's pretty standard hotel and we had a pleasant stay.
Stayed for 4 nights. Arrived at 10am after an early flight and asked if we could leave our luggage until check in at 2pm and was given an upgrade to a superior double room as the standard one I had booked wasn't ready and we were able to check in straight away. Was then offered a complimentary glass of champagne which was no trouble to have in the bar that evening before we headed out. Impressive start. Room was of a good size although if we hadn't got the upgrade I think the standard room we had booked it would have been quite small. Very clean and modern decor. Tea and coffee available free of charge and a mini bar at a cost. Bathroom had all the usual complimentary toiletries and a powerful shower. Location is good and was within walking distance to many popular spots and metro stations close by. I thought the service at the hotel was fantastic. It was my husbands birthday on the Saturday we were there and the receptionists helped me book tickets to the Barcelona game and printed the tickets for me. Also recommended a few restaurants for me for that evening. Seemed genuinely happy to help me and were both very friendly throughout our stay. Would stay here again no hesitation. Got a really good deal using booking.com.
I loved this hotel! Stayed here for 7 days in December. They upgraded our room and it was great. Fantastic location to stay for your visit to Barcelona. We didn't try the breakfast because of all the spots near the hotel.
Double room for about 160€ for two nights during Christmas time was a good value. Decent clean rooms, good location, only complaint was about double bed made with two separate beds which is not comfortable.
Stayed here for a weekend in December. Did not make use of the breakfast or restaurant so can not comment on that. Our room was on 6th floor and was bigger than expected. TV, Mini bar, safe , hairdryer & toiletries along with tea / coffee making facilities available in the room. Bed was comfy & room cleaned every 2 days. Most Staff were friendly & we had no problem getting an early check in. Location is brilliant, if your mobile. Only 10 mins walk from las ramblas, 5 mins from metro and 20 to sagrada familia. Downsides to hotel: At 11.20 on Friday we ordered a mojito at the bar, we were told she had no cocktails tonight- I glanced at the fully stocked bar and back at her & she said sorry Not tonight we are too busy. I had no problem waiting 10 mins for a drink, but to be honest I think this member of staff was being lazy as how could she be too busy to not serve a resident a cocktail? My boyfriend got a drink and I didn't. I've never been to a four star hotel where on a Friday night I could not get a cocktail at the bar. The socket in the bathroom in room 605 is close to falling off - not major issue but not safe near sink & bath. Overall great experience & would stay here again.
Fantastic location to stay for your visit to Barcelona. You are not more than a 10 minute walk from great shopping streets, restaurants, bars, busses and underground. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Room was small but had everything you would need for a long weekend break although I think there are larger rooms available. Breakfast is well worth the extra 12 euros each, there is so much to choose from that it caters for all tastes.the only negative I have is that they were made aware that we were there for a 50th birthday celebration but not even a glass of fizz was offered, I know this should not be expected but small gestures go a long way.
The hotel is perfectly situated. – Not only is it within a walking distance to all the most important sights in Barcelona, but it`s also close to the underground station. – The journey from the airport on a taxi took us some 20 mins (Friday evening) and cost some 35 Eur. The rooms are modern but the „basic” room was a bit small, especially that there was a double bed in the centre. – The room was big enough for one person, but two would certainly make a crowd. Sadly, the ventilation system was not working properly and the air was stiff.- The room temperature was OK, therefore making no need to turn the air condition on, which would certainly lower the temperature, not nceessarily inviting more air into the room. – Unfortunately, the windows did not open… The bathroom was big enough, clean with a nice shower – All in place, with a good amount of toiletries. The staff were very helpful, offering maps and helping with directions. - Delicious breakfast buffet with lots of fruit, pastry, cheese, etc, as well as cava and sangria. - They have a nice habit of greeting guests with a glass of cava at check – in.
We booked direct with the hotel and check in was swift and polite with a glass of cava, our friends had used booking.com & their check in was very different. Good location easy access to popular sights. Booked a room with a terrace as I like some outdoor space but probably not worth the extra, very shabby furniture on the terrace & no sun. Room was nice with everything needed. Breakfast had a good selection, but hot food lukewarm at best. Hotel does have a pool but very small more like a paddling pool. I've never stopped in a 4 star city centre hotel that upon returning from a night out at just past midnight was told the bar was closed! There were 3 members of staff in the reception/ bar area just tidying around & chatting. After a night out we like to take a nightcap up to our room and sit on the terrace to chill.
