This hotel has great location in the middle of everything, we were just walking around and enjoying Barcelona. Great value for money, the window can open- huge plus. Breakfast has everything you need. One young waiter is rude (really!) but we just disregarded him as all others are super nice.

This is a very nice clean chic hotel right in the downtown area excellent location, Customer service was Stellar! When you arrive they greet you with a glass of champagne or water.. All of the Guest Clerks had great recommendations for eating and they all was DELICIOUS. If you get a chance to stay at this wonderfulhotel please tell Phillpo Hey from the Girls!!

We received a warm welcome at the hotel with complimentary cava at check in. We were delighted with our triple room (708) which boasted a large terrace on the top floor of the hotel with views to the sea and Port Olympic. The room had three single beds, two TVs, bathroom with large shower and a well stocked mini bar including Vina Sol and Estrella. Breakfast was delicious with small variations each day. If you want a nearby restaurant recommendation look no further than the fabulous Minamo (5 mins walk) which I have reviewed separately. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful city of Barcelona. Turn left and you head to the Passeig de Gracia and La Rambla, turn right and you will head to the arc de triomph and down to the coast. Happy to recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

I have just returned from a 3night trip in Barcelona and stayed in this hotel and very glad we did,we decided we wanted a balcony room when we got there and was upgraded at an extra €30 per night and again was well worth it.We had what looked like luxury toiletries even down to toothbrushes and cleansing pads,we had Egyptian cotton bath robes and slippers.the room was very clean and the balconyhas table and chairs as well as sunloungers, I should imagine in summer time it would be perfect.we didn't opt for the breakfast as there are plenty of coffee shops and patesseries everywhere and it was nice to get out.The staff all very helpful greeted with cava or water so a great start. The cgambermaid was very sweet and our room was kept spotless. We had room service for snacks and the food was lovely, I had a b.l.t and could only manage half as it was massive, the pizzas are great and the drinks are reasonably priced. This hotel is on a fab location .My only down points really are the breakfast is an extra €12 per person daily and the only English speaking tv channels were about the stock markets so I gather this hotel is used for business a lot,but all in all a great hotel in a great location and I would definitely return.

We stayed at the Grupotel Gran Vía 678 for 4 nights (jan-feb 2018) and had a wonderful time in Barcelona. As we travelled as a couple, I asked the reception before our holiday if we could get a room with a double bed. I had a very quick reply that they would do their best, and yes, we got one! We even had a room upgrade, which was a very very nice surprise! Our room was #611, situated on the 6th floor and in the backside of the hotel. There was absolutely no street noise as we overlooked the inner gardens of the other buildings of the quarter. At sunrise, the sun came looking into our room, so waking up like this was great! The room is spacious. There's a closet with minisafe and extra pillows, a big mirror, a minibar, airconditioning, TV with international channels and a telephone. There's also a desk with a chair. The room is tidy and clean, everyday again! The bathroom has a large shower (also rainshower), speakers, cosmetic mirror and all necessary toiletries. On the ground floor is a large restaurant/breakfast area. The breakfast is served as a buffet. There's a big variety as the hotel offers different pastries everyday. From monday till friday crepes and omelettes are included (to be asked). There's fruit, vegetables, cereals, pastries, sausages, beans, bacon, yoghurt, coffee, tea, different juices... You can have breakfast from 7 till 10.30 am. From 13.00 till 16.00 the restaurant offers a daily menu for 14,95€ with three courses. At night you can eat à la carte. The interior of the hotel is modern and classy. When you enter it, there's a small lounge on the left where you can sit and relax, on the right you'll find the reception. When you go further there are 2 lifts, a small bar, a computer corner and the restaurant/breakfast room. Wifi is free in the entire hotel. Sometimes we had some connection issues, but that was no big deal. There's also an outdoor pool, which is nice when the temperature will be hotter! The situation of the Grupotel Gran Vía 678 is very good according to me. Although it is situated on the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, it is not noisy at all. Passeig de Gràcia is just a 2 minute walk, Plaça Catalunya is just a 5 minute walk. If you come by metro from the Airport, the easiest way is to take line L9s from Airport Terminal 1 to Torrassa, then change to line L1 in direction of Fondo. Get off the metro @ Plaça Catalunya, take the exit (sortida) to Passeig de Gràcia and you'll find the hotel in just 5 minutes! Last but not least: all staff were friendly and helpful. When you arrive, you also receive a glass of cava, which is quite nice to begin your stunning Barcelona Holiday! Would I recommend? YES! My personal restaurant recommendations in the neighbourhood: Rare burgers & more (burgers, excellent french fries Belgian style!!) & Musarel.la (pizza/pasta), both Carrer de Casp (only 3 minutes walk).

The hotel is in a good location and rooms were clean and comfortable although a little small. Although located on a busy main street, our rooms were in the back of the hotel and were quiet. Service was very good from welcoming glass of bubbly to helping with restaurant suggestions. If your looking for a mid-range hotel well located for seeing Barcelona this is a good choice.

Just spent 4 nights there on our first trip to Barcelona. Very nice hotel on a major beautiful street (yet in a quiet area), great location at walking distance to all major attractions (10-15 minutes walk to Catalunya Square, Barrio Gotic and Las Ramblas, 20-25 minutes easy walk to Sagrada Familia) otherwise direct transport connections nearby to all areas of interest. Great helpful staff, nice clean rooms and facilities, excellent breakfast, good price, overall an excellent choice. I would definitely stay again and I would strongly recommend it.

We stayed here for 3 nights in December. The hotel has a great location and is easily accessible via metro. If you are getting the metro to the airport from here there is a direct train which can be caught from passeig de Garcia (spelling?). Follow signs to L3 green line in the station, it can b confusing but buying the multi day pass is definitely best value for money!!! The hotel itself is brilliant, the champagne reception and breakfasts was lovely!!! Nice touch with crepes and omelette being available! The only gripe we had was the shower gel wasn't re stocked and when we asked for milk we waited over a hour for it to come to the room then the maid was rude and wanted to charge us! Apart from that the staff were lovely the bar is very reasonable and the stay was brilliant!!!

Nice hotel at a very good price, staff were really good and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. The food for breakfast was good and the rooms are spacious and nice and most importantly clean. Would stay here again.

This hotel was very nice. It's located about a ten minute walk from Las Ramblas and maybe 20 minutes to the Picasso Museum. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are a bit small but not cramped.
