Rare bad experience through Vrbo
This apartment is actually owned and operated by ainb.com. We arrived in the evening after 10 hour flight. No soap of any kind in either bathroom. No paper towel in kitchen. Kitchen exhaust did not work, so could not cook (did not want to set off smoke alarms in apartment with only 2 windows far away). No hot water in one bathroom plus kitchen. Other bathroom was smelly and disgusting with a broken shower floor covered with a wide swath of cement). Bedroom linoleum had multiple holes.
Initial reaction from management was to wait till after the weekend (i.e. 2 days) to get soap and paper towels. We got some ourselves, the rest by one of their foot soldiers (out of his own pocket) who was too embarrassed to see what was being done to us.
Got a runaround for three days from the management, where they sent three different sets of people to admire the hot water issue, and not solve it. We eventually gave up. They offered alternate accommodation, but who knows if we'd have to discover another set of problems there. The punchline was that two weeks after this fiasco, ainb tells us that they could not fix the problem because their maintenance guy was sick. Really? One maintenance guy in all of Barcelona??
In hindsight we should not have given them the benefit of the doubt that they'd fix the more pressing issues within a reasonable period of time, and should have moved into a hotel the very first night. Plus no one in cleaning staff checked these issues before we moved in
