Gallagher’s Travels Bar Harbor Motel & Cabins is a delightful place to stay! Hotel staff couldn’t have been any nicer. Our cabin was just the right size for the two of us and our dog. We were able to pull up next to our cabin to unload our stuff. Comfortable bed and pillows to sink into after a long day of travel and exploration. Water pressure in the shower was spot on. The retro fridge was perfect for holding breakfast items. Extra toiletries (and coffee packs!) available in the office any time. Gravel road behind the motel provided a neat area to walk our dog without fear of heavy traffic zooming past. This was just the place we needed to land during our stay in Bar Harbor!

I liked that it is family owned and that Sean Gallagher, the owner, treated us like old friends. He gave us recommendations that made us feel connected to the local hangouts and community. That is what we look for, a way in to a local place. He gave us that. Well done!

The location to the park is very nice. The front desk person was also very nice but no one was around several times. There were people waiting to check in. They tried to call but the phone would ring back to the office. The cabin was small. It was just my husband and I but we barely had room to move around with our luggage in the room. The overhead light would start flashing if we left it on for more than two minutes. The shower backed up. The bathroom and shower are tiny. No counter space in bathroom. Can barely shower without hitting your elbows. It was old but clean.

Nice Mom and Pop hotel very close to Acadia gate and right on the free Bar Harbor Allowed free use of their laundry Gave great advice and recommendations Negatives: the sheets are quite rough So much rain this summer caused a very musty smell

I have had a great experience at Gallagher Travels. The property was very clean, quiet and i enjoyed staying there. I would like to say special thanks to Sean, the owner. Due to personal circumstances, i had to cancel the second night literally last minute. Sean understood my situation and was able to provide refund. Great place to stay and great service! Will definitely come back again.

Cabin was small, needed paint job on outside.No common area except porch so should only be used in warm weather.Bathroom was small. Clean and staff very accommodating.Overpriced for type of accommodation it was. Plumbing outside so a bit odd.

Couldn’t be happier
The motel was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is very close to amenities (gas station, restaurants, etc). It is also a very short (10 min.) drive to Acadia Park and Bar Harbor village and center. An added bonus was a well maintained double-entry dog run which was a real bonus. We will absolutely return for a longer stay.

What a great location. So close to Acadia National Park entrance and Bar Harbor. Many good restaurants and Lobsters Pens nearby too. Peaceful at night and morning. A clean, yet spacious cabin. We would definitely stay here again

The hotel advertised as pet friendly and it was true. There is a dog pen and were two other dogs there, so mine had a play-mate. Also friendly front desk with helpful advice for area. The room could have been a little cleaner, but overall, very pleased.

My husband and I were very happy with everything about our stay! We were warmly greeted at check-in and were given a brief overview of the area with transportation options and restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and comfortable. We are arthritic old folks and we slept like babies in a verycomfortablebed. There is wonderful outdoor space to sit and relax after a day of site-seeing. Downside? The bathroom was small. I would definitely stay here again and I will recommend this to my friends.

Super nice people run it, very friendly guests and good vibe. The room just smells really musty and old. It was very clean, well maintained and spacious. Outdoor area included fenced area for dogs, chairs, cornhole game.

Fantastic staff, cute property, comfy room! Close to downtown (3 min drive.) Nice common area to chill out. Fenced in area for doggies. We'll def go out of our way to stay here again!
