Nice & friendly to baby! I will stay again at Bangkok next time.
Good gym and nice views. Room was spacious and very clean
Helpful and hospitable staff. Lots to eat at the breakfast buffet. Location is ideal, easy access to the BTS. Friendly staff allowed us to check in very early.
Had an awesome time at VIE. The hotel is not US standards for 5 star, but IS international 5 star standards. That being said, it's probably a US 4-star. The breakfast is amazing. Pool is beautiful, but small. The location is amazing.. steps away from the BTS. It's very cheap, fast and convenient to get anywhere. DONT take a taxi from the airport - it's faster and cheaper and even more convenient to take the BTS from the airport directly to the hotel, as long as you can haul your bag down the steps.
Stayed here the begining of our Thailand trip, at times had the roof top pool/bar area to ourselves.. Our trip was extended due to us missing our flight back home and we ended up choosing this hotel to enjoy our extra days in the area before heading back home. Truly enjoyed our two week stay in beautiful Thailand. During our trip we visited Bkk, Phuket, Phi Phi and a couple other islands. Such a great place to visit! We will be back, and will definitely stay here again!
I had a great experience at the Vie Hotel. I got upgraded to the Grande Deluxe room. It is very spacious and clean. The location is also great because it is right by the sky train and a big mall. The food is also amazing (a little pricey) and the other facilities, like the pool and gym are very nice. Definitely worth staying at.
We reserved a duplex suite. Everything was great except the lighting in the room. It was too dim to work at night. The best illuminated area was the bathroom We did not have free breakfast for the price we paid and was a little disappointed Since this is a boutique hotel, it is not very well-known by the taxi drivers, not even when map & address on the hotel name card was provided
We just finished our 4 days visit in Bangkok staying at Vie Hotel Bangkok, one of the truly best 5 star hotels we have experienced, and we have travelled worldwide. We arrived after midnight exhausted after 26 hour air travels and were very delighted to be upgraded to a suite on the 20/F with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking downtown Bangkok. Our suite was very clean, bed comfy, amenities pleasant. The guide book says Vie is 10 minutes walk from the closest sky train station, turned out it's only 4 minutes, a real convenience since in Bangkok one relies on the sky train a lot to get around...taxis can get stuck in traffic jam. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet very much, which included a big variety of Asian and western food freshly prepared, delicious and so nourishing that we would not need food till dinner - another plus since we could focus on sightseeing most of the day. We covered the Grand Palace, National Museum, small museum of Thailand (forgot real name), Jim Thompson House, Vertigo and Moon Bar ( 60? Stoeys high), art and cultural center, the MBK, Siam Center, the Paragon, all these malls within walking distance or just a couple of sky train stations away, and three nice restaurants for dinner. We must stress that the Vie's hotel staff quality were among the best we have encountered. The concierge especially was very pleasant, knowledgeable, experienced, patient with our many sightseeing questions daily (this was our first visit to Bangkok/Thailand), thoughtful (like suggesting on how to combine sightsee targets efficiently for each day). One more example to show how the concierge team really went out of their way to help - a day after we left Vie to another city we realized we have left a clothing item in our room. We contacted Vie and the concierge team gladly suggested to send a staff to deliver it to us at the airport on the day we will leave Thailand.
Good value, very large room, excellent staff and good location.
A lovely hotel in not so lovely a location but that's bangkok for you. BUT, once you are in the hotel, it really is a gem of a hotel. A huge amount of thought has gone into making the decor memorable - nice high quality decor and furniture. Bedrooms are roomy and spacious and comfortable. All staff I came into contact with were really nice, kind and polite. BUT....here's the downside with this hotel, it is all the little things that irritated me: a) Ask a member of staff for something not on the menu and you are told it is out of season, when everywhere else in Bangkok is serving it b) Silly things in bedroom did not work e.g. I had to sit at the desk to blow dry my hair because the hair dryer was the wrong voltage for the bathroom electrical socket c) The in room safe did not work d) Ask a member of staff for some information or request something that they cannot answer - forget about them coming back to you with an answer e) The fitness center is nice, but nothing amazing. They have a jacuzzi in the men's changing rooms, even when I pushed the jet button I could have blown more bubbles under water than the machine generated f) If you are looking for a nice range of Thai food, don't stop here. The Thai menu is really limited, I often went to other hotels or restaurants for a much larger selection. While I was in their one and only restaurant, I had food poisoning and while I am prepared to think of this as a one off, it was really the lack of imagination that most disappointed me. Breakfast buffet, a big disappointment, dinner buffet a big disappointment. I don't come to Thailand to eat European designer food. I appreciate that not everyone wants Thai food all the time, but please, offer a wider selection of Thai food. g) If you want to work in your room, be prepared to bring a torch, desk lighting is horrible. I wanted to visit the nearest church and make a donation and come back with 200 candles so I could see what I was working on better. All in all, I would stay here again, but instead of being a spectacular property (which it really could be), it's the tiny attn to details that let the property down
