This was by far the most beautiful yet non-pretentious hotel I have stayed in. We arrived late (after midnight) from the UK and fell straight into bed. The following morning we opened the curtains to our stunning balcony view of the jungle complete with bird song, geckos and monkeys swinging from the trees. It felt magical. Breakfast was good, eggs on request, fruits, nice coffee, hot dishes as a buffet, healthy juices and breads/pastries. The pool was stunning and we enjoyed watching the rainforest slowly get darker and quieter in the evening with a cocktail. Dinner was good and reasonably priced, no more than you would expect to pay in london and for the quality brilliant value (local banana fritters were a favourite). All meals can be delivered to your room, same menu & FOC. All staff were very friendly and seemed genuinely interested in how you were enjoying your stay and what you were up to. Before I arrived I read some negative comments regarding the wildlife (noisy birds and geckos being where they shouldn't) but you are in a rainforest so if this type of thing is not your cup of tea I'd recommend not staying in a jungle. Im not one to visit the same place twice but I hope to be back one day and in the meantime will highly recommend to friends considering an ubud stay.
Beautiful setting, quiet and peaceful, food was lovely at both restaurants, wild ginger and the station. Recommend staying here and despite what others have said food on comparable pricing for UK for standard it is. Drinks are pricey but that's same in Bali all over really, rooms lovely. Service good nothing is too much trouble. Would love to come again
My friend and I went there for a few days and it was absolutely relaxing! The good food, beautiful view and the nice staff made our stay as comfortable as possible. It‘a a little bit far away from central ubud, but there is a complimentary hotel shuttle.
We were lucky to spent our holiday in this beautiful hidden gem! We loved everything : very quite, nice bfast and afternoon tea, amazing pool!!!! WE got some nice compliments as a food massage and Jacuzzi which was a great touch. The view and nature is something..... Guests are mostly from Europe and the atmosphere is very peaceful.
The Nandini was out of this world. The rooms were comfortable with all modern amenities hot water and even BBC news ! The views out to the jungle were just breathtaking as was the pool area. Incredibly tranquil and relaxing. The staff were superb and couldn't do enough for you and the manager was just wonderful. The restaurant served the most amazing dishes along with the very tasty albeit quite pricey wine but worth it! THe hotel is also excellent at arranging tours for you in the area and you will not get bored here. Whilst there isn't a lot around to walk too it didn't matter we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone looking for peace tranquility in the most fantastic surroundings.
visit Ubud! Have the cooking class, have a treatment in the spa! The stay was wonderful, relaxed and quiet. Loved the fact that I could get something to eat in the restaurant after arrival at 22:45... Hospitality spelled with a capital H.
“The Station” at Nandini has a different menu to the main restaurant and bar, including cocktails. The food is more authenticity Balinese and uses recipes and cooks from the local village. You would be hard pressed to find a better example of excellent local dishes, hence the 5 stars. It is a little pricey by local standards. I guess because it is part of a pretty exclusive bijoux hotel.
Such a beautiful Hotel in the middle of the jungle. Very nice service everywhere but especially the guest relation manager named Ivan. He helped us with the accomodation and traveling to the Gili island. The food was very good and the spa very recommandable. The staff Takes care with every detail of the resort. It was just perfect everything👍 Doni & Julia
This was an extremely peaceful and relaxing place to start our honeymoon, set into the jungle with wildlife on all sides but rooms very clean and bug free. The setting is tranquil, the facilities and food & drink promoting health and wellbeing. The shuttle service to Ubud was very convenient. The spa setting and services were high quality. The management were very helpful, with a good sense of humour and interest in our stay, including sorting out our itinerary, laundry, extra water and other needs. A couple of amuse bouche arrived with meat whilst we are vegetarians but otherwise very little with which we could find fault. It's on a steep incline which mean great views, especially from the pool, restaurant and spacious balconies but it may be challenging for some older guests to get up and down to the restaurant and reception.
Arrived after midnight during a rain storm. Should have left then when we had to walk up and down flights of stone steps in the near dark (cable car wasn't working), but we had non-refundable reservations for 3 nights. The good: Management staff are nice an will quickly and easily book trips for you - take advantage of this service. Breakfast is ok. Massage at spa is nice, but pedicure is basically a polish change - but certainly not priced as just a polish change. Scenery is lovely, nice mountain views, very green. Nice to watch the birds. Do not go to this resort unless you are very fit and can climb up and down VERY steep steps/stairs without the use of handrails. There is a little outdoor elevator that is cute, but doesn't go most of the places you need to go. You have to go up and down stone steps to go most every where (pool, front desk, restaurant). They say in their literature if you want to have a massage at the river you have to use steps. What they do not tell you is that these are very steep steps that have a broken metal handrail in places and that is is several flights of steps - not just a few steps. Also the stone stairs that go to the room are very poorly lit at night and I was almost in tears going back to my room after dinner because they were wet, slippery and I had nothing to hold on too - the stone steps have stone walls with no handrail and are covered with ivy/grass. Very very dangerous. Also, food is very very expensive at the resort. Way over priced. Also, when we arrived our room was full of flying ants/termites. Do not recommend to go with small children or teenagers
