recently updated but need more attention on details, I would rate it 7/10
Staff was extremely nice and location very convenient. Room very nice and comfortable.
Gray ocean views, happy hour treats, and location.
Rude receptionist upon checking in. No greetings, just disparaging comment about not being a diamond hilton honor member hence no breakfast. I could not care less. I was at medical conference at different hotel with superb service where all of my meals were covered. It was just an inquiry. Room was not clean, the TV stand had at least 1mm of dust around it, when expanded from the wall my laptop and food was contaminated with this. Torn bed sheets. Upon checking out, had to wait for 10-15 minutes for them to verify that I did not charge a service from CUSB restaurant, they made me wait for ( 8 dollars! when I paid 1000 for my stay) , Off course they found the mistake after consistently asking me, ' are you sure you did not go to the restaurant?'. Then still charged my credit card the wrong amount. Simply one of the worst Hotel experiences I had, from the moment I arrived until I left. Unprofessionals all the way, and I stand by my opinion.
first floor a little noisey but the quality of the room was nice.
I tried to contact this hotel with billing issues but wasn’t able to connect with them until I reached out Global Hilton service supervisor. And it was the worst service call back from La Jolla Curio Hilton. Literally not answering my question nor any apologies with awful manners.
Be aware that parking is $37 a night. no bathtubs in the normal king rooms.
Nice hotel, great staff. A little dated, but kitschy cool. Valet parking is the only option & a bit steep at $37 a day. Beautiful views from the restaurant on the 11th floor, a rather limited, but delicious menu. Glad we stayed, I would probably do this agaon.
My stay was average, our room had stains and there where no convenient parking you are forced to pay the $35 parking fee. The room was very noisy due to the outside traffic. No a very pleasant stay.
This is the 5th time I have stayed at this hotel as it has a true neighborhood feel, but is just a quick walk away from the beach. The exterior and lobby are striking and inviting. The room balconies are comfortable, many with views, and I spend time on them each day of the stay. There is a nice salt water pool and an exercise room as well. The Cusp on the 11th floor has spectacular views of the shore line and ocean.
I was only here for one night on business. I got upgraded to an ocean view room which was very nice.
The only reason my rate wasn't a 5 is due to being right on a main busy road. While they give you ear plugs (more for if you want to sleep with your door open) they are needed even if the door is closed due to needing to upgrade the weather stripping for a better seal on the sliding doors.
The hotel was nice and comfortable. Had great views of the area. The staff were all very nice and welcoming.
The room was a modern retro style and quite uncomfortable! No amenities , not pleased .
Amazing views & location. Excellent place for a low key getaway.
1)Pulling up to valet we were informed of 35 $ a night parking fee.. Outdoor parking right in front .. Not even covered garage .. Valet says only other option is to park on street on main road .. Which was a lie .. The residential streets had plenty of parking .. But we found that out after the fact 2) no smiles while checking in .. No offerings .. no perks or upgrades not even for our anniversary/ birthday stay! Nothing .. Not even a room with slight view of ocean .. We got 35 a night parking lot view.. 3) unsightly bleach stained carpet 4) hot water faucet in bathroom sink wouldn't turn 5) while checking out no one bothered to ask how stay was .. I offered my experience though .. No reaction.. No apology .. Just scribbled notes on a paper
everything is great in this hotel. i would definitely go there again.
This was my first time staying in a Kimpton Hotel and I was delighted with the service and room. The hotel is very stylish with many amenities. I really enjoyed the complimentary shuttle service and the complimentary bikes available to explore La Jolla. Will definitely come again.
Great location for walking to the beach, local services, staff is friendly and fun. Great organic coffee shop just two clocks away, wonderful restaurants, beautiful beach Cleanliness left something to be desired and we experienced some significant malfunctions that made it a little more challenging. They do allow dogs which added some fun factor- we saw them meeting at happy hour and could hear the barking from our room.
booked this hotel last minute and was such a pleasant surprise. the hotel is in a great location in La Jolla, only a 5-7min walk to the beach. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Stayed on the 3rd floor, had water glimpses of the beach, if you stay at a higher floor, 4 or 5 above would have some fantastic view of the beach. there are some fantastic restaurants down the road. the hotel has complimentary bikes you can use as you please. the only negatives are the cost of parking/valet at the hotel of $28+tax per day is very steep, the hotel also doesnt provide free Wi-fi for guests. there is a starbucks next door though if you want to go and use the internet and get a coffee. the hotel offers free morning coffee for all guests and every evening from 5-6 has free wine tasting with nibbles which is a great touch. the hotel has a wonderful bar downstairs and also on the 11th floor called Cusp, which has the best view of La Jolla. There was no kettle or coffee making facilities in the room, though was provided with pitcher of hot water so I could make my own tea. one of the nights, they had a movie night at the bar in the outside bar by the fireplace, which was such a nice way to end the evening. also, when we headed to the beach, we were given a beach pack which was such a nice touch that contained, towels, sunscreen, chapstick, bottles of water, sand bucket. i recommend eating at Cusp restaurant on the top floor for drinks and the food and seeing the sunset. We had such a pleasant stay and would definitely be back!
