Conrad Bali is a high-end luxury resort that promises perfection and almost delivers it. We stayed for one night in a superior (aka basic) room, and four nights in a Conrad Ocean Suite. The basic room was comfortable enough, with beds and a balcony from which there was a diagonal view of the ocean. The suite was huge, offering a kitchenette (but no actual cooking facilities), dining table, sofas, separate bedroom, walk-in dressing room, and bathroom with shower, bath and loo - and a double sized balcony with day bed, chairs, table and a sink! There was so much space, even the bathroom had space for a seating area. The resort itself is immaculate. The gardens are perfectly kept and gardeners are constantly at work. The restaurants serve fantastic food and catered well for my wife’s celiac gluten intolerance. Our room rate included breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails in the executive lounge - which were free flowing and accompanied by great tapas. The breakfast in the main resort was a bigger spread than the breakfast in Rin Restaurant for the suites guests, but the personal service in Rin made up for the slightly smaller selection. The choices in both included fruit, breads, cheese, cold meats, cooked fish, eggs any way you could think of, cakes, sushi. The Rin options included grilled fish and pancakes. There were renovations going on that meant half the resort was closed. But, because the resort is so big, it was not noticeable from the areas that were open. It did mean a smaller choice of pools and if we had not been in suites, there would only have been one pool in the spa area (adults only). The suites pool was open for children, which it is not normally. Both of these may be an issue for some guests. The resort does host weddings. The noise and interference is minimal, so it wasn’t a bother. On the debit side, this does all come at a price. The resort is expensive and especially food and drink that is not included in the room rate would add up quickly. Options exist within walking distance outside the resort. And three minor things do need attention. First, the pool table in the spa complex is in a terrible state - ripped cloth, no chalk, no rest, balls don’t always come back... Secondly, if you leave the balcony doors open the aircon goes off and the room steams up. This makes the floors as slippery as a skating rink. And third, the resort should stop the watersports touts from hassling guests - they come into the resort, interrupt people talking, reading and sleeping, and shout across at people they have spoken to before. If we had wanted watersports, we would certainly have gone elsewhere.
This was a wonderful hotel that we spent with family at the Conrad Bali. I loved every bit of this vacation. It was one of my best vacations till today. Wish to return with my husband this time to Bali and will want to stay at the conrad and review it again.
As a Hilton Diamond member, I've had the privilege of traveling the world often. I'm fortunate to have had great experiences but the Conrad Bali truly stood out. The property is beautiful, yet the service was most impressionable. When I probably needed it the most, from check in to check out, the entire staff I encountered were supreme. When you care about something enough to do it well, that's where this hotel shines and the Executive Lounge team personifies this. Sometimes pulling what seemed to be triple duty, Suli made me smile every time we saw her. Even the most exquisite property can lose it's luster if it doesn't have great people that make that impression. Suli is the best of the best, Hilton. Thank you! (And to the pool attendant young man, sorry I can't recall your name but thank you for literally sprinting across the resort to fetch me a newspaper!)
Despite renovation going on on one side of the hotel the service and facility is still gorgeous. I loved the lagoon pool (water can taste a bit salty) and tranquillity around the area. Barbecue dinner on the beach is a must try if you are looking for something memorable with your family and friends - staff during the dinner was excellent. I recommend staying at the suites area as the gardening and facilities were more private and upscale. However even the garden view rooms looked great. Despite so many rooms the pool and the beach area were rather quiet. Breakfast was great despite the long queue but I must say the queue got cleared really quickly. The only downside for me was man approaching me from the beach to convince me to try water sport activities which was not part of the Conrad property or service. This was a bit of a disturbance as I was asked everytime going to words beach side.
I had been stay in conrad Bali beginning of Feb for two nights for leisure purpose. Due to raining season it was great I could reach airport for hotel only 20 mins by hotel car. The driver Gustil is extremely friend in English and he was extremely hospitable. Upon arrival due to Chinese tourist group was in reception counter. To make extremely efficient check in was By Agung. Sincerely he apologised the inconvenient circumstances which I had to wait quite long to wait for my turn for checking in. On top of I was impressed by his engagement skill. He made a positive impression upon arrival. I was escorted room by Suaudi. He fully explained all facility information and room orientation was made by him. Even his English skill was not so good but I really felt his genuine hospitality. Cleanliness in the room was fantastic. Even one hair cannot see during my stay. I realised compare to another hilton worldwide property, size of bed was different. It was quite bigger than any other properties which made me happy. Regarding room condition, I will be pending for next visit due to fully aware on going and started renovation work. At night I went to reception to borrow some stationary due to no business centre in this property. Effie was the one who assisted me with speedy and prompt action. She is also the one who really can engage with guest and she can make emotional connection. Breakfast venue was very clouded. I was a bit disappointed due to coffee was not served even staff came to approach me. Finally I waited almost 30 mins to get coffee. I can’t recall his name but one of senior staff who is muddle age ( it could be in charge ) he immediately suggested I can bring back coffee to my room. His service recovery was excellent. Overall better have more manning for breakfast venue. During stay I was in and out from Hotel. Always greeted me by mentioning my name was Niken. She is also the one who can go for extra mile for guest by engagement. Overall experience, staffs are really friendly and hospitable. I couldn’t mention the name here all but it is sure all staffs who is well trained made my stay special. Once again thank you so much for providing me genuine hospitality. I am looking forward coming back to stay after the renovation all completed. Or I might be back soon cause I really liked the quality of service in conrad Bali. Regards Akiko Goto
The standards of this property as dropped since I last visited in 2015. One can find some summer flies (non-blood sucking types) in the room upon entering. They used to reach out to guests to help arrange for airport transfer but not this time. Would I still return, yes, pretty much because overall, the resort is clean and serene for a quiet weekend break.
This was a second visit five years on from a first. Despite current renovations, the decision to return was more than justified. The hotel lies about ten minutes’ drive outside the main Nusa Dua complex of five star hotels around the Bali Colection xhoping complex. That is only part of its charm: you can walk out of the front door of the hotel and be part of the real, local Bali. The hotel’s charm is, however, largely down to its staff. Extremely well-trained and natively pleasant, every member of staff, whether cleaning the pools early in the morning, or attending to your table at dinner, would greet you with a smile and an offer of assistance. The food and service at 8 degrees South made us wonder why you would venture to the seaside hit-and-misses of Jinbaran, so this time we didn’t. Tri, in particular, runs a smooth and pleasant ship in the restaurant: he and his staff hit just the right balance between happily attending to your meal without interrupting the flow of conversation. The rooms, though well-sized and really well-organised, are in need of some renovation, but I hope their slightly retro feel is never lost. While I prefer rooms in the main wings of the hotel to those in the Conrad Suites which are rather further from the beach, if your Hilton Honors membership gets you Conrad Suites access, this is an added bonus: breakfast, afternoon tea and evening canapés and drinks in a gorgeous lounge overlooking the Conrad Suites pool are all extremely pleasant. Oh, the pools: I almost forgot the pools, and how could I forget these? Who designed this hotel? How did they manage to integrate about seven pools and make each quite different to the other, so that for a whole week you could just go from one to the other as though you were staying at different resorts? And even to get from one to the other, they managed to take you through walkways along a succession of ponds, water features and waterfalls that all exude subtle serenity of soul and spirit. We got there after a stressful business week in bustly Singapore, and left only yesterday after a sunrise swim in balmy waters, much refreshed, relaxed and ready for busier times -until the next visit.
Service was of expected level of a luxury resort..but the housekeeping team really wow-ed us..I must say, they even folded our boys pyjamas nicely tho knowing that they will wear it again later at night..other than that, nothing out of the ordinary except the view when u wake up in the morning..also, more variety will be better for the breakfast buffet..I will come back, only with my husband next time.. Nevertheless, thank you Conrad Bali for the arrangements made during our stay..
I have stayed at this hotel before and loved it but this time is a totally different experience. I have a booking for June, 2018 and at the time of booking was told that only a section of the lagoon pool would be closed and a map was sent. We went ahead and booked which was a mistake. They have since e-mailed and advised that the whole lagoon pool is closed, as is the main pool and restaurant near the beach where we have our cocktails and canapes. What is left is one small pool near the Suites. This is not appropriate for our family and had I known this at the time of booking, I would never have booked. It is very hard corresponding with the hotel and they have said they will not refund my money. Very disapointing. Will never stay here again. Please be careful when booking whilst the hotel is under renovation.
The resort is exceptional and the staff is so nice. Spa was great, food was on point. Room was a bit outdated, but they are under construction currently to fix that. In a couple years it should be one of the best 5-star resorts in Bali.
