Great food and accommodation, beautiful space, cocktails are must haves, and affordable
The hotel staff was really nice. However, the first night there the sink faucet broke and flooded the my room and the two rooms next door. The sink did not have shutoff valves under it and the staff couldn't find the main one to shut it off for about an hour and a half.
It's a swanky little hostel with a good bar that serves as a popular night spot. The only issue is that since it is a popular place at night, parking may be difficult.
I had to leave 2 days early or get fired from my job, and the hostel wouldn’t refund me. The hostel claimed all food and drink at the bar were 10% off since I was a guest, but not one of the staff asked if o was a guest as they were serving me, and I didn’t get the discount- so maybe they were unaware. The bunks aren’t light tight, I could feel every movement of my bunk mate. There’s no where to hang your towels to dry, except on the bunks like back in boot camp. There is no where to put personal hygiene items in the shower stalls except the floor, and no where to put personal items when you’re in the bunks, so you have to sleep with your cell phone, or book that you were reading- I woke up on top of my stuff more than once. The rooms were too hot and muggy, while the common areas were over air conditioned. Because of the temperature I found it difficult to get any real sleep. The etched glass windows had a giant gap of clear glass around the edges so anyone in the common areas could get a peek into the room as they were walking by, which meant I changed either inside the shower or in the toilet. The hostel was loud on the weekends because of the bar as well, and in some weird gentrifying yet still ghetto location right under the freeway, where cars on the frontage road refused to slow for pedestrians in the crosswalk. I was almost hit twice. It looks nice, but that’s the point, you’re supposed to be so impressed by the finishes that you’ll be willing to overlook how crappy

Hi Mayra! We are so sorry about that emergency situation. We are thankful for your understanding and have fixed it to avoid it happening again.

Hi Shannon, I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your complete stay with us! Unfortunately, we have a strict cancellation policy which is listed upon agreement of the booking. Since our bar and restaurant are very popular with locals, we note at check in that guests need to show their key card for the discount. Since we provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash- we do not have those holders, but will look into adding that! Our hostel is located on the sidewalk that connects East & West downtown, an incredible spot walking distance to many of Austin's favorite spots- I am sorry that you found this less than enjoyable. I hope that you were still able to enjoy Austin, all things considered.
Glad to hear you had such a great with us! We'll see you next time you're in Austin :)
