With a “do not disturb” sign on my door and a noon check out, housekeeping was beating on my door and walking in my room at 10am. Unacceptable.

Don’t plan on checking in early
The only down fall was waiting 15 min to check in. Instead of just saying we don’t allow early check in they stated rooms weren’t ready. Which is ridiculous when you know rooms are booked and should be ready by then. I literally was off by those 15 minutes and was told to come back in 15 minutes. Other than that everything else was great.

The place is too noisy, it seems sound insulation is not done properly. Be careful that the advertised price is inaccurate as it does not include $52 parking fee or $59 in case you want to use valet.

The Downright Austin is conveniently located near all the action but not in the middle of it. This means that you can walk to the bars and restaurants, but it's quiet at night. The rooms at the Downright lack storage space. Our room had no dressers or drawers and no place to store clothing.

THIS PROPERTY HAS AN IN HOUSE FRATERNITY! I have to say the staff was friendly and room was VERY CLEAN, the beds were comfortable HOWEVER the noise was UNBEARABLE. I could hear EVERYTHING going on outside my door, next door and it was not pleasant AT ALL. Up until 2am when whom ever thought they could sing and play guitar, i called downstairs to complain only for front desk to say ITS OUR INHOUSE FRATERNITY...LIKE IT'S OK???? SERIOUSLY! I was like i dont care tell them to stop! I paid for a pleasant stay and that did not happen. It was unfortunate because the hotel while dated, was clean and nice room.

Cute rebrand
We stayed here to go to a concert at the Moody Center and it was a great little getaway. Clearly a much older hotel, but the recent rebrand and redesign did a good job and is really cute. It’s retro and fun. Great coffee bar and it’s walkable to UT venues and downtown bars. Room was comfortable and spacious. Parking feels very overpriced at $60ish a night, but it’s a great option for somewhere between campus and downtown.

Property recently went through a major renovation and for the most part it was a good one. However, there were curious choices made…very little room on bathroom sink for items, one towel hook, no salt and pepper in the breakfast place, etc. Room was otherwise spacious and comfortable. Being next to a freeway meant a noisy night - not their fault, they moved us for our continued stay. Area was convenient but a bit run down. Again, not their fault. All in all, a decent stay for the price.
