This hotel was MUCH better than we thought it would be. I stayed here with my wife on a short vacation for 2 nights. The lobby and bar had a nice, clean modern look, as did the room and the bathroom. The only issues we had were a lumpy bed, which hurt my back (admittedly, I have a bad back, too), and the a/c in the room was not consistent. We like having a relatively cold room at night, and it took hours for the room to cool down, making it difficult to fall asleep. It was one of the "executive rooms" with more floor space, but the room still should be able to cooled down within an hour or less - this IS Texas, after all. The hotel as a whole was rather humid during our stay. The hotel staff were very nice and courteous. If you stay here, I highly recommend checking out the bar. While they don't have happy hour, they DO have an excellent selection of craft beers and - when we were there - and excellent bar tender named Troy who could have done double duty as a concierge. He was funny and knew a lot about local activities.as well as the beer they served. He recommended several good bars and restaurants nearby. Overall, the stay was pleasant. Bathroom was nice and everything was clean. TV was a bit small for the room, but we weren't there to sit around and watch TV anyway. Aside from the aforementioned issues, I definitely recommend staying here. Those things can be remedied easily - we just weren't there long enough to mention.

4 day stay was pleasant. Had a room that faced the highway and a bit noisy. The room seemed to be fairly sound proof, but the highway noise was too much for the windows.

Good overall experience stayed for two nights no complaints

Nice room and clean. The temperature controls do not adjust and heater was blasting all night my wife could not sleep. The room is clean and pleasant. The beds are nice and comfortable.

The shuttle service was prompt and courteous. They were painting and making improvements.

Good hotel that is close to where the action is at.

I loved my time there! The hotel staff were kind and knowledgeable! The elevators took a minute but that was the only issue. When I come back I will be staying here again!

The hotel was under renovation so we did not get a very good impression of the true nature of the hotel. Checkin was in a little out of the way room and anytime you needed to go anywhere it was through the staff service hall. It was not bad but just weird. The restaurant was in a small conference room. The first time we ate there we were not sure it was going to be good at all but we were pleasantly surprised! The food was excellent! We ended up eating all our meals there...their mashed potatoes are to die for!!! The only complaint about our room is that it was very small. The ceiling was very low and the shower head was too low. The hotel was right next to the lake so it was convenient to go kayaking when we were there. We would stay there again...by then the renovations should be done.

Under construction, not worth going to right now. Very loud and unclean outside of the room. Rooms were basically fine.

In Austin for business and stayed at the Holiday Inn Town Lake. Stayed here before several times. Like the free parking, free WiFi and the location. Was a short walk to work each morning. The hotel however is going though some much needed renovation.

This hotel was pretty run down for a holiday in. Elevators were sketchy, wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the bathroom and shower was tiny! The bed was very comfortable though and the staff was friendly. Definitely not worth the $150/night I paid.

Upon arriving, I was told that the computer had crashed and that I could not check in. The staff was defensive and offered few alternatives. I went to dinner and returned to find that the computer issues were corrected. The hotel is in an ideal, lovely location in Austin but is in need of a major re-furbishing. The public areas are dark and appear dirty. The lobby is severe. My room was adequate but was dreary.

I have stayed here before, each experience was very good! Staff is very friendly and attentive. Definitely will return!

This is actually my second stay at this Holiday Inn location. I had a pretty good experience the first time, when my sister and I booked this hotel for a music festival weekend. We bumped into a few people from our favorite bands as well. It was the same thing the second time around. My friend and I picked this hotel because it was close enough downtown and fit our budget. Parking is free-- there are some spots in the open lot, or you can use the garage. Staff was friendly and listened as I vented about my lost luggage from Phoenix to Austin. Little things like that help. I'll stay here again next year.

Hotel was excellent! I couldn't ask for more... (maybe cheaper breakfast $10 for a $4 breakfast wasn't the best......) Over all 5 out of 5 star. Rainy street is a hop skip and jump away. I would stay here again easily.

In town for a short trip to celebrate my birthday. When this was mentioned at check-in, they gave us a voucher for complimentary drinks in the lounge. The hotel is just starting to be remodeled, but this did not cause any disruptions to our stay. Great staff, comfortable room.

Its difficult to purchase a decent hotel under $150, this is still the case with this hotel. Breakfast buffet was overpriced and the rooms were not all that clean.

If you are coming to Austin and looking for a standard no fills place to lay your head come to Holiday Inn. It's location is ideal to walk to new hip bars and restaurants. Also they have an outdoor pool and close to nice hiking/biking train. I recommend for good location.

Very helpful staff and great location to downtown Austin.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us, Richard. We know the renovation work happening right now is not the most appealing but we're happy you stayed with us anyway and we invite you to come stay with us again once it is complete this summer. We want to show off all our hard work!
