Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Austin Northwest/Domain

Most of the staff are very nice and pleasant, and provided great service, like breakfast staff, the assistant GM, and the pm front desk that day.

My family had a great stay of almost a week over the thanksgiving holidays at Fairfield Inn. Everything was always very clean. The hotel has a great location for highways, restaurants, neighborhood parks, the domain and the arboretum. However even with the great location won't cost you a fortune. There's very little traffic coming down the road towards the hotel because of the location which makes for a nice quiet stay. The beds were good and the breakfast is typical of hotel breakfasts. The hotel may not be exceptional however because of the exceptional price (even at thanksgiving) we were able to extend our stay a couple of days. You'll be hard pressed to find a better deal at other hotels in Austin or even at airbnb/vrbo.

Hotel was very nice. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast tasted good and there was a nice selection to choose from. Even the coffee as decent. My only complaint is that the hotel is next to train tracks so you can hear the train rumble by every couple hours.

First of all train wakes you up every time it passes by in the morning we found out that the hot water was not working

There was a distinct smell that was in the lobby then traveled throughout the hotel. Our lights completely went out while one of us was in the shower in the restroom. The front desk was very nice and the hotel was in a good location but the room was musky when we first walked in and the smell was very over powering.

The hotel property was excellent, A nice hot breakfast buffet included. Location is the problem. Sits between MoPac highway and the railroad. Train goes by several times each night. You enter from the north bound service road, but the service road ends 100 yards from the hotel and you must loop South on MoPac to go anywhere.

Hotel was hidden behind tall trees but hotel was very clean and comfortable and well lighted. Hard to find because signage was low and hidden. Great amenities and friendly staff. Asked for direction and staff gave us a printout to our restaurant.

This hotel had the best hotel breakfast I've seen. The building and rooms were super clean. It is close to a railroad so bring earplugs.

Excellent hotel and staff very friendly. Clean And really good location

Hotel was is in great location, staff very helpful, I would stay here again, Located in area that has lots to do and minutes from down town.

The hotel was complete, had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast had the normal hot stuff (eggs, sausage, Texas shaped waffles), but they also had fresh fruit as well as the usual cereal and dry things. It right in the Arboretum area, so the North side is super close. Downtown is 20 min away off-time, 45 min or so during rush hour.

this hotel is nicely placed at the Domain and has a lot of nice eateries around.

Was in Austin with the family for one day. So, didn't really use any amenities. The king suite was small compared to other hotels. The bath tub was really old with stains. Breakfast was nice with egg, sausage, waffle, bagel, bread, muffin, cereal, hot oats and fruits. The biggest complain was the noise from the train running every few minutes.

Stayed for only one night but nothing to complain about. Easy to get there, friendly staff, also is walking distance from some good restaurants

I usually stay at this hotel 3-6 times out of the year. Always a great experience, friendly staff, clean rooms and I always enjoy the complimentary breakfast. It was a little more expensive than usual since it was SXSW weekend, but that is to be expected. Great price and perfect location. Easy access to Mopac, 183 and The Domain.

The hotel and it's staff are excellent. They even serve scrambled eggs and sausage at breakfast. HOWEVER, the facility is located directly next to a busy Union Pacific railroad track and I counted four separate trains plus a few during the night on the Friday I stayed there. Ask for a room on the highway side of the facility and not on the railroad track side. Otherwise, the place is really nice and clean, and a very good value.

The hotel room itself was clean and well-maintained upon arrival. The real kicker with this place is the location. It's only about 15 minutes from downtown and made our trip to 6th street really easy. The staff was anti-climatic but in a less-than-exhausted location what can you expect? It was nice and quiet with a nice pool and hot tub in the back.

The description & pictures of this hotel are misleading. The rooms are actually quite small. When the sofa bed is pulled out, you almost cannot pass from the main bedroom "area" past the sofa bed to get to the bathroom. And to pull out the sofa bed, you have to lift & move a heavy table. The only place then to put that table (if you want to access the bathroom) is in front of the door! So your exit would be blocked in the event of a fire or other emergency. I can't believe this hotel passed fire or safety inspections! And there really is no significant separation between the main bedroom "area" & the sofa bed area. You can see directly from one into the other, affording no real privacy to either room. The closet is also extremely small & 1/2 of this very small closet isn't even accessible even when the door (which made a horrendous screeching sound when opened or closed) is fully open. In addition, the pool is VERY small & is placed such that the hotel blocks the sun. You exit to the pool through the eating area but the room keys don't allow you to re-enter through that same door...so you have to go all the way around the hotel to get back in! The breakfasts are quite good with many options & the kitchen & cleaning staff are very helpful & nice. But because of the many other problems, we would definitely not return here.

We got a huge room with a separate area with couch & TV. We went there to visit with our daughter & granddaughter and the extra space was nice. Staff was friendly. The price was decent (for Austin). Overall we were very pleased.

Stayed just one night before the race and checked in about 7-8pm. Room was clean and got a good nights sleep before checking out before breakfast on Saturday. Close proximity to good restaurants. Thanx!
