DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Augusta

The hotel is older/outdated which would have been okay but the water was warm at best (I was later told they were switching out the water heaters the evening of my check-in but the shower the next morning was no better) and they carried out a test of an emergency system which required me to vacate my 4th floor room rapidly only to find business as usual downstairs. When asked about the announcement, I was told there was no emergency, it was just a test. I was in the middle of a conference call so I didn't appreciate having to end it abruptly needlessly. I suggested next time they include in the PA announcement that it was a test - they agreed! The staff was friendly enough and when having breakfast in the dining room, the waitress offered to bring me a large Starbucks green tea when I asked for as large a cup as possible. She was attentive in a much appreciated, not overly done, way.

The entry and reception lobby were beautiful and welcoming. The staff was pleasant but distant and amaturish. After the lobby the 4 star experience quickly dropped to a 2.5 star experience. The room we were assigned was the runt of the litter - poorly situated like a 2 star motel with the 'window' on a major hallway. The room itself was a bit worse for the wear with the ceiling damage poorly patched a painted and it had a bit of a dank feel, again like what one would expect from a 2 star hotel. In all, an okay experience but not what one would rush to book again.

This was an overnight stay for a family funeral. The accommodations of the DoubleTree made this sad trip bearable. The front desk personnel were beyond friendly and accommodated our request for a crib in one room and to locate all three rooms together on one floor without question. The rooms were neat and clean with plenty of towels in the bathroom and pillows on the bed. Admittedly I am too picky to like any hotel bed, which was more comfortable than most, but even the abundance of pillows could not make up for their flatness. Overall the stay was very good but for the per room price and paying for three of them, I would have expected an included breakfast alternative to the $10.99 per person breakfast buffet. We opted for an off-site fast food breakfast biscuit instead. Everyone however LOVED the warm chocolate chip cookies at check-in!

The Doubletree was conveniently located right off of the freeway and had a brightly lighted outside parking lot. Since I was travelling alone I appreciated this safety factor. A big drawback was there was NO mini refrigerator. I inquired at the desk and they said they only had them in their suites but could get me one for an additional $10.00/day. NOT GOOD! I will not stay here again. I will search for another hotel with more ammenities.

This was just an OK Doubletree Inn. Friday and Saturday nites are all you can eat Prime Rib and Seafood. Had we known we might have tried it, but the wait was too long! Nothing great about this one.

The hotel was nice however, apparenlty we were a little too loud and staff was very rude about it. They could have addressed in a more professional manner. We had the TV on if their Tv volume is too loud then maybe they should have volume control set on the TV.

Nice location, friendly staff, clean and quite rooms.

anniversary night/father's day visit to Augusta. /first time in hotel. front desk staff could be a little bit more polished. It was a bit hectic/unprofessional when we checked in. Room was great. Bathroom is starting to show some age. Lobby was nice, but the music on Saturday night was awful! Cookies were very good and the breakfast buffet was good.

Disappointed...had to change my room due to a varnish used to refinish interior doors in the middle of my stay. Upon returning to my room the smell was so strong, my allergies went haywire and I had to switch my room...no compensation offered ...this was approximately 11pm at night...Very disappointing...I was told by staff, they had other complaints from other guests as well.

pool was just the right size for our grandson to swim. Nice buffet for breakfast and lunch. Room service on time and food was nice and hot. Wonderful warm choc. chip cookies anytime. When we checked out my husband commented to me saying I picked a great hotel

I knew the hotel was nice but it was even better than I thought! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is just 2 minutes from alot of dining options, some shopping, and a movie theater. However its just far enough away that its quiet. I loved the bed. It was so soft I could have stayed there the whole trip! I will be staying there in the future for sure.

Friendly staff. Rapid check in. Quiet room great breakfast

The Doubletree was very relaxed. The mattress was sooo comfortable! The staff was friendly and professional. The location was close to South Augusta and Evans, making it easy to travel to see all of my kin at Thanksgiving. I noticed early the morning after I had checked in the night before that the toilet was running constantly. I called the front desk, and within five minutes maintenance was there, checking it out and replaced a part. I highly recommend this hotel.
