My experience here was terrible. Long story short, I'll never be staying at any Wingate by Wyndham property again! I was treated horribly after telling the front desk staff I saw a bug crawling on one of the pillows. I drove down from Virginia, which is 6 1/2 hours away, and loaded all my belongings onto the dolly, checked in (1 hour after cutoff for cancelling), and entered the room. I inspected the bed and found a bug crawling on the pillow. I wheeled the dolly back down to the front desk and asked her to cancel my reservation. She said she couldn't since it was after the cancellation deadline.
I asked her for her name, she refused to give it to me, and I called Expedia to have them talk to her because the hotel staff didn't believe me when I said it was a bug in the room. The front desk staff and the maintenance guy went to the room to see if they saw the bug, as if, the bug would remain in the same spot.
I told the front desk staff, that I would just find someplace else to go and to cancel the room. I asked her to give me a receipt or something stating the time I was leaving the property, which was 6:45 pm on 8/13/25, after arriving around 6:25pm. She said she couldn't print me out anything because I paid through a third party (Expedia), and she refused to give me or the Expedia rep her name. She stated that she would be charging me the entire 3-night rate because I was rude to her for asking for the copy of my license back.
