I don’t want to make my fingers too much dirty on this. Terrible beds, old covers, WIFI ok sometimes, bathroom not bad, rooms muffy and old, noisy rooms, diner is hell for vegetarians not much choice. Breakfast not bad, good luck.
Due to work circumstances I have stayed at this hotel at last December and shortly after realised that the hotel is actually not bad located. It is near Glyfada square and on the main road close to tram stop. I enjoyed clean and quiet breakfast and friendly staff. If you not looking to be in the center of Athens you should considr this hotel since its also not far from Voulagmeni area.
We booked about 20 rooms at Emmantina in the first week of October 2017 This hotel is overpriced.Rooms on 4th floor are ok but on the other floors very poor This is a very basic hotel run on a shoe string budget. They do not provide basic things like bottle water and box of tissues in the room.Breakfast is a joke.Nick promised us something vegetarian for breakfast. Nothing was done it was only a promise. Hotel regularly ran out of things like baked beans and fried eggs. Despite the availability of fresh fruits only one fresh fruit and a canned fruit was served.Staff could've not care less. Dimitri on the reception desk is an obnoxious little worm very rude. The bar staff were equally rude. The whole hotel has just one iron. There is no housekeeping to speak of except the ladies doing the rooms. If you need anything you have to go down to reception and deal with Dimitri who is absolutely useless There are far better hotels in Glyfada town at better rates and service The rooms facing the busy main road are extremely noisy. STAY AWAY
This a nice hotel in a excellent location. It is quite an old building that has been modernized. Our bedroom was fine with a fridge, kettle and new bathroom. Unfortunately the bed is very large so there is only a small double wardrobe for clothes storage no chest of drawers. The balcony had a great sea view. The tram stops at two close locations which made getting into the city easy and cheap. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. We were disappointed that on our first night we used the roof top bar and were told that despite it staying open until 2.00 am they stopped serving coffee at 10.00 pm. The barman said as a special favour he would make one for me but in future we would need to be earlier. There are no bars really close so they have the monopoly. Just stay in the town which has many nice places open until late. The area was fine for walking around in the evening, we used the back residential roads to avoid the noisy main road. Overall I would recommend this hotel.
The location of the hotel is near to the city center of glyfada, to the shopping area, supermarkets, restaurants. The Staff in the hotel they are helpful and nice people and they answer you to all your questions.
We stayed in Emmantina for a week on our holiday. I wouldn't say the holiday was either made or broken by Emmantina, it was satisfactory without blowing you away. The rooftop bar is without doubt the biggest selling point of the hotel. The views are lovely, and it's a great place to sunbathe, go for a paddle in the pool to cool off, and get a drink. You could easily spend hours every day here if you wanted. The bar staff are always offering to fetch you drinks and were the most friendly staff we encountered around the hotel. In terms of location, Emmantina is minutes walk from the coast and Glyfada's beaches (shame about the oil spill recently). It's easy to catch the tram into Athens (45 minutes tram ride to Syntagma) and that was very useful for exploring the tourist sights in the city. It's on the edge of the main Glyfada strip of bars and shops which is nice to explore in the evenings. Keep in mind it is right next to a very busy road, which causes a couple of challenges. Crossing the road is tricky at any time of day or night! Also there will be some traffic noise. In the room efforts have been made to minimise noise with double doors which helps, but at night when all is quiet you will inevitably still hear the constant rumble of traffic. On the roof bar they play music constantly to help distract from the road and that works fairly well. The drawbacks of Emmantina..Mostly involve the food. We prepaid for half-board breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is ok, served in a dinning room it's a selection of cereals, cooked breakfast, bread and fruit. Also coffee and cold drinks. Nothing special but it does the job in setting you up for a day. Dinner however was always a hassle. Each night we ate in the hotel the staff didn't understand or were confused about our booking. Some nights it'll be served in the roof bar, other nights we'd be directed down to the dinning room, all a bit confused. I got the impression the food (having already been paid for) was intended to be as cheap as possible. Leafy salad, lots of pasta, fairly uninspiring main courses. All sorts of good food options are available around Glyfada and I'd recommend exploring those rather than having dinner at the hotel. Our room although booked as a double gave us instead twin beds, which was a shame. The room was well cleaned each day. Although on a couple of occasions we'd come back after a day out to find the room stinking of cigarette smoke, which was quite disgusting. I assume the air vents must have brought it in from a nearby room or something. All in all we enjoyed our stay, although Glyfada itself is the star.
Had a nice stay at this hotel. Great beds, and nice breakfast. Walking distance to downtown Glyfada, as well as a 6 euro cab ride to the nearby beach. Julie the front desk manager was kind and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again
I stayed in Emmantina for one night : it was a very pleasant experience, specially the room set up, the mattress and the duvet. I did not get to use public transport but spotted the tram stop opposite the hotel at close distance. I was told that it is a scenic ride of 45 minutes to down town Parliament. Car ride took 15-20 minutes. The amenities were pleasing, specially the roof top swimming pool with the nice view. I got to sit at the rooftop bar and found it convenient for one night stops and pretty nice and relaxing open space and view. The staff is very friendly and professional from waiters to reception to housekeeping. Special thank you for Ms. Venetia who took care of all the small details with a great smile. She can answer most of your requests, if not all, concerning hot spots, museums, transportation schedules, massage, safety, flight tickets and luggage etc... The room was located on the main road with sea view. You can hear a bit of car sounds although it has double glass doors, but it is not uncomfortable at all compared to other cities. The view was really nice in the morning. One last note : I was positively surprised with the quality of the shampoo and soap available as I usually make a great effort to pack mine. Those who have curly unruly hair, it'll do the job. In sum, it is a clean, friendly and conveniently located hotel.
This was an overnight stay which was 12 hours too long. This hotel smelled musty as soon as we entered it.We were three people and they put us in a double room and brought in a very uncomfortable cot, which made the room very cramped. The room is very basic, the chairs and furniture was all scratched up, the binding in the welcome book ripped from one end to the other. The breakfast was ok. I would never stay here again, even just for one night.
Where do I start...the only positive was able to get transfer from airport less than 48 hrs notice That's where it ended. Located on very busy road so rooms noisy despite double glass doors. Asked to move rooms. Unfriendly staff uncooperative and not receptive of request. Breakfast very ordinary. We were given an old timetable for hop on hop off bus from the reception and as a result waited over an hour for the bus. It was handy having the hop on hop off bus near hotel. At best this hotel is 3 star not 4 star as advertised.
