the staff was very friendly. the pool was very very nice! we stayed for the cheap price. we got what we expected. could have had more comfortable pillows.
I was in town visiting family for the holidays. I had stayed here a handful of times through the years but, had not stayed there in a few years. I dismissed the horrible reviews because I knew the hotel to be a little beat up but, it was always clean, affordable, and in a convenient location. However, when I walked in the room it looked like a movie set...a horror movie! I quickly put my bag in the room, wrapped a couple of presents, and left for my family's house (as fast as I could)! I was invited to sleep on my Aunt's couch and I jumped at the offer! I returned to the room around 10am to take a shower and get ready. I walked in and BOTH beds were stripped. The linens were piled on a bed and a dresser. I called the front desk and the housekeeper began knocking on my door at the same time. I was informed they have limited supplies and they strip beds in order to do laundry and get clean linens back on the beds. I won't even start with the creative wall patches I found on 3 different walls, the rolling, dank smelling carpet, the patched hole in the bathroom door, or the dried blood stain on the shower curtain. Ummm...ewww!!! The 1 housekeeper on duty was breaking her back trying to get every room in order. After overhearing the proprietor's tone with her (berating, overbearing), I cannot see how this guy kept ANY employees! I packed all my stuff in the car, left my room keys on the tv, and left! I slept on my Aunt's couch again. This is the ONLY time I've ever not slept in a booked room and on top of that, checked out a DAY early. Affordable lesson learned! After years of having a bare bones, clean, economic place to stay, I'm positively in the market for a different hotel my next trip! I wouldn't send my worst enemy to that crime scene!
The first room's air conditioner didn't work. The second room's shower handle was loose, therefore couldn't adjust the hot water. The maid forgot to leave coffee in the room. No hand towels were there. The staff apologized and did the best she could with what she had available, which wasn't much. Breakfast consisted of brown water (coffee), twinkies and ding dongs. The best thing it had going for it was it was quiet. Quiet because we were one of very few guests there that night.
I was in town for an interview and I just needed a room for a night. Although it smelled a bit like old smoke, the room was large and clean and had a fridge and microwave. It was a bit Spartan but I was quite impressed!
One towel in room none avalable till next morning (after 10am) No swimming pool. Ask for rolling bed couldn't get one because clerk couldn't leave desk and there was no note stating we ask for one Other rooms had their doors standing open as if their rooms were hot. We ask them to refund our money and we were leaving which they did. I wouldn't go back there at any time
The Knights Inn Ashland was nice for the money, however the gameroom consisted of two outdated games....one very old fitness machine and an ice machine that was broken..
