Overall the resort was great! The food enjoyable with many choices. A minor drawback- children should not be by the pool bar area playing ball etc. Which could be annoying to adults. Several pool area and steps to the beach. Staff was very attentive.

We arrived from NY only to find out the hotel was overbooked. They put us up at a sister hotel that was old and dated. Then 2 days later had a room for us so we were told we had to move. Who wants to pack and unpack and repack for a one week vacation.. Exhausting..

The entire experience was phenomenal... from the transportation at the airport to the cleanliness of the rooms.. It was perfect. Food was exceptional and drinks were awesome as well. Pictures are exactly like the hotel.. Definitely will visit again!

I highly recommend this all-inclusive hotel. You won't find better service or food.

Very nice hotel beautiful view and room very friendly staff

Glad we stayed at the Riu for our 25th anniversary. The hotel is beautiful and staff is great and a pleasure to talk with. The staff should be applauded for all they do. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the view was unbelievable. The shows were all very good, offered every night. The food was very good, enjoyed the buffet the most alot of options with specialty restaurants. When reading reviews keep in mind you can't please everyone and then some it doesn't take much to write a bad review. I was so worried about skme reviews i had read but my husband and I are so glad we stayed at the Riu So thank you and cheers to the Riu and your staff you were all great

Service was a little suspect. Waiting for a drink at one bar and was not noticed until after another person walked up after me and was immediately noticed! Took a long time for a drink. Same thing happened at Breakfast Buffet!

We recently did 4 day trip to aruba. There is really nothing much on the island and the activities to DO, you will find it all over carribean. So only thing you can enjoy is the Resort itself and we made a good choice of RIO. Food choice good, plenty of things to do. Lot of Resort organized activities etc.

This place gives peace and joyful experience without failing your expectations of a good vacation spot

We have been here couple times before the hotel was recently renovated but not the hallways and bedrooms which need a facelift . We even convinced my brother his wife and kids to join us. The outdoor facility swim up bars and sauna were wonderful. Right on the beach - food was excellent esp breakfast . Love the fact that you can share the amenities at the adult RIU Antilles ... Gym needs an upgrade . The only issue I was very disappointed with was Orbitz guaranteed pricing policy . I submitted all the necessary documents when I found out next day they had same hotel flight times for 400 cheaper and they gave me a run around to get my refund. Was a shame since it was there own website . I was so busy trying to get ready for trip I couldn't keep pushing the issue but I will.. So orbitz service was not I had expected .

THE ENTIRE WAIT STAFF WAS PHENOMINAL. GREAT POOL, AND OUTSTANDING MEALS FROM SEVERAL RESTAURANTS TO CHOOSE FROM.

Our experience was a great one at this hotel. Beach was awesome right past the pool. Everything you need is right at the hotel. The buffet had plenty of food and different varieties each day. The view was breathtaking I would definitely recommend Riu Palace I'm looking forward to my next visit

We had a great experience. Staff was outstanding. We had some small issues that were handle immediately.

Yes you are greeted with champagne upon check in and the resorts looks nice, but service is not the best. Friendly staff but they seem to be on vacation themselves, no sense of urgency to please and I believe this is due to poor management. The food is edible but nothing exciting, buffet is better than the restaurants. Now by mismanagement this is what I experienced in a week. One day, no more beach towels, had to go to sister hotel. Pool bathrooms dirty, you need to go to back up to your room. Air conditioning is preset to 21 degrees Celsius or 69.8 degrees Farenheit, which is not cold enough in my opinion. Phone call was made first day in resort since I thought the AC was broke, they said maintenance will be on their way, they never came. Room was also really damp. The toilet clogged regularly and the refrigerator began to leak a few days into the stay. Also at the bars you need to say you want Smirnoff, Johnny Walker etc or they will automatically give you no name brand alcohol. A disappointment I had was they do not offer drink or food service at the beach. You have to walk up to the pool bar every time you want a drink and carry it back. An empty drink rack would be overfilling on the beach and staff would just walk by. The one elevator had the fan inside making noise, which went all week unfixed and it just got louder. Some guests coined it the broken elevator. To reserve chairs and umbrella you need to go down around 6am for front row, 730 for ones in the rear.

Very nice and friendly staff, we had a great time. The restaurants other than the buffet were not that good but buffet was great

Food was great with a nice selection for everyone, staff was friendly, beach was awesome, entertainment was on point, it was our second time there would recommend to others

The weather was beautiful, had a wonderful time filled with surprises considering we didn't tell anyone it was my birthday. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of champagne and smiling staff. The room was amazing with a view of the ocean. On my birthday when we came back to the room after breakfast there was a birthday card wish and a small brownie/cake which was delicious another surprise was at Dinner when the wait staff came over with champagne, dessert and sang happy birthday. Their attention to detail was well received. Plenty to do whether you go to the beach or stay by the pool Zumba at the pool was fun, water activities were also all fun. The availability of snorkel equipment, paddle boards and kayaks at no cost was a plus.

Birthday trip for my daughter and myself. At check in we were initially given a room on the 4th floor right behind the elevators and I requested to be moved for fear of noise and even though not blocked, the balcony view was not great due to the roof below. We requested and received a room on a higher floor that was away from the elevator. The view was breathtaking! The front desk staff was polite and explained their process for the all inclusive resort. Our first encounter with the dining staff was less than stellar. When we entered the patio for seating, no one acknowledged us and we had to ask if we could be seated. We were shown to a table but were not shown where the buffet "snack bar" was(which was inside and this was the patio). We had to ask the guys at the table beside us. The pasta on the bar looked like it had been out for hours(dried up) but I chose a burger that turned out to be decent. After the initial food encounter I was really concerned that this was not a good hotel choice for us. But my anxiety was short lived as we walked next door to the open pool bar at the Antillas and the entertainment staff was engaging the all adult crowd. The food for the remainder of the trip was above average and the staff more helpful although some did not seem to want to be there. The pool was awesome and the water a beautiful aqua color but not as clear as I would have liked. Sunsets were phenomenal. Nightly entertainment was mediocre, drinks not very potent but plentiful.

This hotel should market themselves as 4 star, they don't have the personal service or attention to detail to be a 5 star. That said, it's a nice hotel with an amazing pool and if you get a good deal than book it, but I would be very disappointed to pay a high price for this. Also the remodel in 2015 was not a complete re-do, it was just certain things, and many areas remain quite dated.
