GrandStay Hotel Appleton-Fox River Mall

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Nice hotel close to mall and dining choices. There was garbage left in a garbage can from previous tenants.

PROS - Bright welcoming lobby, very friendly staff, comfortable beds. CONS - Worn furniture, very stuffy and stale air (wet/dirty sock-ish) Overall, good enough for a one-night business trip

Everything was perfect with our stay. The price was a little high and i personally picked this hotel for a lobby bar but the bar was never open. The continental breakfast was more then expected with the variety.

This hotel is conveniently located right at the Fox River Mall near the Appleton Airport. It is the place to stay if you like to shop. Hotel staff was very welcoming. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, with a desk, and wi-fi access, large flat screen, sitting area, a fridge, and coffee maker. Breakfast is included and has a wide selection of entries. You can make your own waffle with the waffle maker. Various fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals and oat meals, with selection of tea bags, and coffee. No restaurant at the hotel but there are plenty specialty restaurants nearby. Business center for guests to check in flights and print out boarding passes. There's an indoor pool and a small gym for guests to use.

The hotel was jammed with fans attending the Packer game on Sunday. Despite the crowd, there were no inconveniences - room was cleaned in a timely manner, breakfast food was replenished quickly, and the staff was very friendly.

Room was pleasant but the food was sub standard. There was also a constant humming noise in the building.

Great alternative to Green Bay when attending a game. I always stay in Appleton and highly recommend this property if you want to spend some time shopping before and after the game.

Great staff, hallways nicely renovated now time for the rooms and pool to get the same treatment. Nice that the pool/hot tub area is for adults but a larger pool and outdoor space would be a welcome addition. Install some music/cable TV system and please clean the dead bugs from the overhead lighting. The rooms still remain the norm for most of the hotels in the Fox Valley. Comfortable and practical yet none have set themselves apart from being hotel clones and tend to chose by rate rather than anything that has set one hotel as a better choice than any in the area.

Close to plenty of restaurants and the freeway but still quiet. Stayed here while seeing a play in town. The only negative was the pool closed at 11 pm so didn't get to use it by time we returned from the play.

We found the entire hotel and our room spotless. The double bed room was larger than most. We appreciated the extra seating. The complimentary breakfast was very good. We will be back for sure.

A fine place to stay. The facilities were alright. The pool badly needed to be cleaned. The breakfast had many options, but by 830 was cold.

Breakfast food was average, did not offer cheese or condiments for oatmeal

I booked the hotel online. I had never been to Appleton, Wisconsin and had no idea what to expect. I decided on this hotel because of the photos comma and the reviews other guests had left recently. The hotel room was more beautiful and accommodating then indicated by the pictures. The reviews we're totally accurate. This is a very nice hotel, especially for the money. The only criticism I have is that the eggs and bacon at the breakfast bar were mediocre. But, I have low expectations of the breakfast bar any time I stay at a hotel with complimentary breakfast. This would be my first choice if I came back to Appleton.

Booked a VIP room. Did not get a VIP room and was told there was no difference. This should be advertised accurately. Hotel was decent.

This is an excellent place to stay outside of Green Bay.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, but the pool was very tiny. The capacity was 11 people. Although, I think they had their priorities right, because the hottub was almost the same size with a capacity of 8 people. The workout center was clean, and had an elliptical, treadmill, recumbant bike, and weight machine.

We were here for a Packer Game. Hotel was right off the highway. Service was great. Loved the breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

Love this place because I can do business there online, eat breakfast and make appointments from the hotel close by. Business center has only one computer which needs update and have the hotel headquarters order another computer. One does not do it for me so I can print directions and compose word docs!

Great place to stay! Very clean and welcoming! Great hot breakfast.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay. The only frustration I had was the wireless connection in the room was so weak that I couldn't even use it. Pages would not load and if they did it took a couple minutes.
