The hotel is very charming and clean and the price is very good. Service in a word is non-existant. We arrived at 7 pm passed through an attendee security screening and found the reception and lobby completely empty. After finally shouting "hello" for about five minutes finally someone showed up and checked us in. No offer of help with bags not available porter. Room was very clean and nice. In the restaurant the waiters hardly spoke English and were not very efficient. No Breakfast buffet and the prepared "assorted meze"for two was overpriced. There are alternative places in the neighborhood open in the morning for breakfast. The elevator usually was turned off. Although charming clean and comfortable doubt I would stay here again.
This is a perfectly pleasant hotel in a great location. Rooms were nice enough, particularly as the price was pretty good (at least in early May). My main beef comes down to one thing...the AC seemingly had not been turned on in the hotel. I and two other colleagues all experienced this, so it wasn't just an issue with my room. I assume they just hadn't turned it on for the summer. However, without it, we all found our rooms incredibly stuffy and uncomfortably warm. Opening the windows helped, but then we could hear *everything* happening on the street below, such as the 1am trash collection and dogs barking. In addition, the bed and pillows basically felt like plywood with a thin cushion on it...extremely uncomfortable unless you like an ultra-firm mattress. I could live with the mattress/pillow issue, but all-in-all, these issues made it extremely difficult to sleep and made meetings--where I was already jet-lagged--extremely difficult. Had the AC been functiona
I have chosen this hotel for its location but I was wrong. Reception, restaurant and reservation department had different ideas about the package agreed upon. I used this facility for a seminar . The floor for meeting rooms had a very heavy kitchen smells. One could tell that the staff was not happy to work here. my room was overlooking were the staff went out for smoking and discussions were loud enough to wake me up before the alarm clock. When we informed the staf about the smell, the solution was pumping air freshener via air conditions which disturbed attendees more than smells of frying onions and cooking meals. I would not receommend this facility at all. Staff were trying to their best but exprience was unpleasant.
Stayed for business for one night. Location is great at prominent city center Kavaklidere. Hotel is small but convenient. Service is good an warm staff. The rooms are ok. They upgraded me to a suite room but all suits were smoking so I switched back to my normal room. This should not be the case as if you are non smoker you can't stay in a suite because of the smell. They kindly sent me a fruit plate to apologize. The price is also good for the value you get to recommend for a business trip.
Sa Maller and friendly I hate stayed here a lot over the past few years. The staff always helpfull to all. The room always nice and well presented. Breakfast has a really great selection of hot and cold dishes. The Divan pub does good food but has lots of competition within a few 100 yards in almost any direction. I recommend :-)
We arrive late afternoon the staff were not smiling at all and was little bit difficult to check in they gave us rooms on the first floor and we booked 2 nights before anyway I arrived to my room and the smell was horrible coming out from the bathroom they changed the room immediately anyway the breakfast is great and the waiters there in the restaurant are very nice. Price is affordable don't worry Cheers enjoy
It was only a one night stay but the hotel was excellent and all the staff very helpful and friendly. Has underground valet parking which is very good and is right in the city center good for walking around and shopping.
We stayed here because I had previously tried this chain using their hotel in Istanbul a couple of times and loved the hotel. It's modern and minimalist . They have a bar restaurant on the ground floor and valet parking. Our room was a deluxe double and it was very comfortable with all the amenities you would expect including tea and coffee making facilities. The hairdryer in the bathroom was ok too which was a positive for me. It's in a great location near to shops and restaurants but is still quiet and relaxing. Beware if you are driving the traffic in Ankara is a nightmare.
Divan Ankara is for me the best hotel to stay in Ankara which I have been doing for a couple of years . It has a easily walkable distance to Tunalı Hilmi Street-a lively shopping area full of wonderful choices of mid-range cafes, shops and restaurants as well as up to the road to much fancier department stores, shopping center Karum and nice restaurants. The hotel personnel offer impeccable service (what is special is that this seems to be the service culture of the hotel which does not seem to change over time!) always helpful, cordial and warm. They genuinely makes one feel taken care of. The food is very good-especially breakfast is a treat- with freshly prepared omlettes on demand and a good variety of Turkish breakfast staples such as olives, cheese and simit as well as othe continental offerings. The rooms are spacey enough and the windows can be opened for fresh air which is a blessing. Highly reccomended.
Superb well-appointed modern rooms, attentive professional staff, fabulous restaurant, 24 hour services, best little hotel in the city if you want to get away from the usual mega/chain towers. Will always come back.
