Spent one night here before flying back to London today. Online booking was easy & efficient & the hotel were expecting us. Reception staff were very helpful ( giving us street maps & dinner recommendations) & friendly & we checked in earlier than stated before collecting the hire car. Hotel car park is a very tight fit even for a small car but with spaces allocated to the hotel & a lift to take you from the hotel to Reception or your floor, the process was easy. Allocated a twin room with balcony on the fourth floor, it was spotless, roomy & comfortable. Even the many church bells locally failed to keep us awake being at the 'back' of the hotel. It is ideally placed for exploring the Old Town, castle, beach & the many lovely restaurants nearby as well as the well know Esplenade. Breakfast was more than generous & some of it better than a Parador that we stayed in on the same trip. Can't fault it for the price.
The beach is very close to the hotel. The breakfast is very varied: eggs, jamon, fruits, milk, juices, croissant, bread, coffee, tea. The staff is helpful and they are always smile. The hotel has shops and restaurants nearby. The C6 bus from the aeroport is to next street. The confort of the bed and pillows aren''t ok.
Have been visiting at this hotel for the past few years and it just gets better and better. On this visit I stayed 5 nights with my husband. The staff are lovely, helpful and so welcoming. Our room was spacious and bright. The cleaners came every day and did a great job. It was spotlessly clean. The location is perfect for the beach, restaurants. All in all fantastic. We look forward to returning.
23rd-25th August. 2 Adults, 15 year old and 12 year old. This is a very old building, but then every building is old in Alicante old town. There is an underground car park which is very small and tight and about 15 euros a day. This all adds to the charm of the hotel. We had no noise at night time from the outside. Inside, it is very modern, clean and fresh. We found every member of staff from front desk, kitchen staff and chamber maids to be friendly and helpful. The chamber maid whom we must have seen several times during the days was always charming, smiling and greeted us warmly. We had the family room for 4, it was very airy, spacious and bright. The AC worked very well. Only criticism is that the fridge was very small and was already full with the mini bar. The room is cleaned everyday and towels are changed if you so require. A good choice of foods on offer for breakfast, though the dining room is small. The hotel is very close to the beach, The Explanada de España and 5-10 minutes walk to the old time. I would suggest to explore the old town as there are many nooks and crannies along with many places to eat and drink. Brilliant place to be based at an affordable price for Alicante
very good location_- the beach very close , every shopping a aria its very close, but very small rooms, all so bathroom very small, nice stuff ,breakfast good , but the hotel its very old for 130 euros for night!!!!
This hotel was great value for money the room was spacious and comfortable it was clean and the service by staff was excellent the main attraction for us was the central location just a very short walk to the beach and the marina where there was lots of restaurants and bars stretching along the prom I would like to thank all staff particularly those at breakfast who made sure that there was a good choice of food and we were able to get a seat without waiting even the dining room was small hope to make a return visit in the future
Stayed here for one night in May and have been meaning to review before now. The hotel is one block back from the beach, on the edge of the old town and really close to myriad bars and restaurants. We were upgraded to a great room on the top floor with a wrap around balcony looking up to the fort which dominates Alicante. The room was large and very comfortable and the bathroom excellent also. This isn't a full service hotel - no bar and just a breakfast room, but with its proximity to everything this isn't a problem. The bus from the airport costs €3.40 and the stop at the marina is literally 5 minutes easy walk away. I was interested to see that the hotel hires beach towels, which is great if travelling with hand baggage only. I would definitely stay here again and consider it great value.
I have to admit that we did not pay a lot for this CityBreak with Jet2. So I even do not want to critisize as I think that quality to price ratio was perfect. Location is perfect for: public transport from/to airport, beach, eating out, shopping etc. Room was spacious - comfy beds. Good Wifi signal. Beach towels hire for 3€ per towel. Breakfast was not my style - only tomatoes from veg/salad but... maybe Spanish people food habits for breakfast are different than mine. Our flight back was 8 hours after checkout. Reception informed us that we can leave luggage and later we can use free shower service before the flight. For the price we paid I would highly recommend this hotel.
Although I have had good experience with other melia hotels, this was a bitter disappointment. When we arrived, the room were drab and tired looking, the showers were dirty with hair around the bathtub, but as we were here only for a few days, we simply cleaned up and got on with our break. The breakfast was basic, with food not being replenished unless we asked, and the selection was poor. The last straw was when, upon asking for a late checkout (which melia offered as a benefit for their gold members, as long as the hotel is not a 100% occupied), the manager refused as she was confident the rooms would be sold today. When I said I would complain, the manager told the reception to take the rooms offline so that I couldn't prove breach of contract. Stay well clear of this hotel. It does not live up to its mediocre three stars.
This was our second stay in this hotel. The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. The breakfast is great, plenty of choice and the staff are constantly ensuring everything is replenished. the hotel is extremely clean and everything is to a high standard. Fantastic shower! We did not fly until the evening and the hotel kept our cases so we could freely enjoy our last day. We are looking forward to returning
