AC Hotel Alicante by Marriott

Really lovely hotel which left fizzy and chocolates in my room for my birthday. Modern decor in the bar and restaurant. Great for some winter training as we both compete and ran miles in either way along the seafront on a safe track. Alicante is a great place for chilling shopping and eating. Relaxed by pool but water freezing! Friendly staff and good service. Would recommend.

Staying for a week over x-mas / New Year. The rooms are small (typical continental Europe) and the beds are small too...double - no queen or king size beds here. Kids have their own room and that is nice as its right next door to us but would have preferred interconnecting. - which I asked for twice but was told there was no guarantee. Asked (twice) for rooms with sea view but none available...so book early and I pay a higher price for the sea view if that's important to you? Hotel is geared towards business so no time or attention for families with teenagers given. The staff in reception are not the friendliest or most efficient ... But get the job done. The food in hotel is nice...prices are normal for hotel food but good quality ...just nothing 'wow' ... The rooftop pool is lovely as is the sun lounge area...quiet And private... The Jacuzzi is tiny (3 pp) but a welcome relief for those of us who needed the respite after a hard day on the bikes and hikes .... I don't think we would stay here again...mostly due to the fact that when we stay at a Marriott I kinda expect a much friendlier staff...the training does not seem to translate over here... Oh yeah and.... What about the Marriott Mattress? The bed we have is firm and comfortable (albeit small!) but one of the attractions of staying in a Marriott hotel is always the uber comfy massive mattresses!? We live and learn ....love the fact that there are no dishes to do or toilets to clean and someone else is cleaning my teenagers room for a week so it's a real holiday! Móna Wise Galway, Ireland

This is a decent 4* hotel, but the location isn't great. We had views of wasteland with a bit of port, not glamorous. The rooms themselves are comfortable and well appointed. The pool was absolutely freezing - noone could swim more than a length...

We spend only one night in the hotel, but I must say i would come back. The rooms were clean, the reception was very friendly and helpful. The location is a little bit out of the center, but definitely within walking distance, about 15-20 min walk. The boulevard/beach is about a 10 min walk away. Great area for a morning run. The hotel has a gym, but it is quite small, the view is nice tough. The hotel has a roof pool with beds and a lounge bar. When we were there the pool seemed open, but the water was just too cold. In the summer it must be quite nice up there and also here you have an even better view.

I found this place when I had an unplanned 24hours stay in Alicante. The hotel was clean and very well presented and most importantly welcoming. The staff were fantastic, in particular the lady who checked me in who clearly took pity on my disheveled state at the time of arrival! The room was so comfortable I had a really peaceful stay and if I’m ever in the area again I will most certainly stay at the AC Marriott again. Thank you to all the staff who welcomed me into their hotel. X

Second time this year Stayed for 3 nights at the start of November 2017. Bus straight from the airport to the bus station – no issues. Short walk but felt safe Check in organised as normal. Standard room was fine, not the biggest but clean and comfortable bed Breakfast which were included with paying by visa was good on two out of the three days – on the problem day , there didn’t appear to be a lot left and wasn’t restocked promptly . The other two days were fine. If you are going to get the airport bus back , there is a bus stop around the corner of the hotel , to save time getting it from the bus station and a trip around the city - unless that suits

Hotel situated near the harbour in Alicante. 10 mins walk to the shopping area and 15 mins to the beaches. The hotel is very Nice, cosy bar and friendly people. The weather was as expected, sunny and warm. Took a trip with a boat to an islan, nice eating and swinning (use bathing shoes!).

Recently renovated with a very fashion cocktail bar at the lobby with different open spaces to spend a nice time with your friends just having a lunch, coffee or cocktail. Food is great. I has been many times for a conferences with very nice privates rooms for it. Hotel compliments are great.

I spent there only one night, and it was a positive experience. The location is not prime, but you can still walk to the Esplanada and you are on the sea front. The lobby with the restaurant was lively and comfortable, it has a roof terrace if you want to unwind after a long day. The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side, but had all the amenities including a safe.

We stayed here one night and whilst the hotel was lovely the sound proofing was genuinely the worst I have ever experienced. Some inconsiderate guests came in late and it felt as if they were in our room. We were woken up at 5.30am by the sound of another guest’s vomiting which we heard via the air conditioning vent in our room. Awful!!!!!
