We planned to come to Faro for the overnight before an early morning flight. We came a day early and am so glad we did. Faro is a beautiful little city and Hotel Faro made our visit exceptional. Sophia at check in was so accommodating with all of our changes. She is an outstanding employee! I was skeptical about buying the half board, (a food credit for one meal each), but definitely was glad I did. The service, food and view makes this restaurant a must see. Leonardo, our server was charming and made a great meal excellent. The fireplace in the middle of the restaurant and lounge chairs led to an after dinner drink. A perfect way to close the night. The rooms are well adorned and sleeping was tremendously comfortable. I can’t stress enough how wonderfully accommodating the staff at every point of our stay. I highly recommend every part of this hotel and restaurant experience.

Room on the small side with no window view. No tissue paper provided! Convenient location is it's only saving grace. Expensive parking- was our only hotel during our Portugal trip to charge so much- most other hotels had complimentary parking

I highly recommend staying here while in Faro! Everything is within walking distance - the location is absolutely perfect. Faro is such a beautiful city! The hotel rooms are simple and clean, but the rooftop is amazing! Every morning breakfast is served on the rooftop with a view of the airport and the lagoon. Also there is a shuttle to the Hotel Faro Beach Club which is amazing. You can get a cabana and sit on the beach and drink sangria. They have bathrooms and a full bar/restaurant. Great hotel!

Just back from 4 day break.booked through jet 2 special deal.great hotel on harbour and only 5 minutes from walled city. Hotel modern and spacious, good sized room and bathroom with shower over bath.lovely towels and bedding.daily room service and fridge in room.no tea or coffee making facility in room. Lovely rooftop dining in or outside.Tasty breakfast with lots of choices for continental or cooked.hot selection not always hot enough. Rooftop infinity pool that was immaculate like the rest of hotel..would go back.very helpful staff Location gave good access to walled city that has some lovely restaurants.nice little streets to wander through with small businesses . Hotel is only 5 minutes walk from bus terminus and rail station and as we did not hire a car was ideal.had a trip to Saturday market at Loule on train but would advise going on bus as station 5k from town centre.fares less than €6 return for both of us The harbour area at Faro nice for a wander and lots of trips out into the estuary to see flamingos, spoonbills and lovely beaches. Can hire kayak if really adventurous and bikes for around town. Little tourist train takes you on tour and good way to get your bearings This was a last minute trip and great place to visit, food very good quality and we'll priced Would go back 😎

4 star hotel over looking the harbour of Faro. Not cheap by any means but really good food and service. There are a number of adverse comments about poor service but we found that we were greeted very warmly and promptly. The roof restaurant and terrace is simply fantastic and to take a drink and watch the sunset over the harbour should not be missed.

We arrived too early to get our superior room so we mooched about the hotel, went for a drink and soaked in the ambience of the town from the roof restaurant/bar and with it being a hot day a cold beer did the trick. When we eventually got to the room we were not disappointed. It was a comfy room with a view of the stork on top of the light . That bird was very entertaining, but not as entertaining as the shuttle bus to the beach daily. The beach was wonderful and a nice run out for me personally, the morning pick up was after a fantastic eat what you want buffet breakfast and the driver was happy every day and added to the feel good factor of the whole holiday. After a day in the sun it was back to the hotel a marvelous meal and a seat on the terrace people watching. I loved our stay here. I could heartily recommend it to anyone. The staff, the rooms, the food and about everything about our week there was superb. I would like to thank them for making it a wonderful break for us and for me personally, 2-1/2 hours from Manchester by air and a short hop from Faro airport made it so easy and a no brainier to where we would go again for a short break. Book it if you can. You won't be disappointed

Great hotel, excellent location - 5 mins walk to bus and railway stations, helpful staff and fantastic food. Must be a challenger for best hotel in Faro. Also has a rooftop bar and pool ! Don't hesitate, book !

My husband and I stayed here on Friday night, just for the one night. We could not have received a more helpful and friendly reception when checking in, which was around 8.15pm. We were asked if we wished to make a dinner reservation, and having just been travelling for several hours thought why not, however we wished we had eaten elsewhere. Whilst we both loved the amuse bouche and our starters, the mains were less impressive (we both opted for the suckling pig). Neither of us wanted dessert. I personally thought the price of the food was very expensive and we were both disappointed with our mains. The cocktails and wine however were very nice, as was the service which we could not fault. Breakfast was a help yourself buffet and had more or less everything you'd want I guess. It was beautiful sitting on the roof terrace whilst eating dinner and breakfast looking out to sea and watching the world go by and the planes taking off and landing at the airport. Our room was as expected and we had no complaints there. Thankfully they had an underground car park, as car parking in this area is horrendous! It is chargeable at €12.50 per night, but worth every penny in comparison to the stress factor of finding somewhere on the street free of charge. We would definitely return to this hotel, however would probably dine elsewhere of an evening time.

The hotel appears luxurious with a beautiful rooftop terrace with a wading pool and quality brunch. However many of the rooms suffer from mold and a certain feeling that the walls may fall down at any moment. The shower gives practically no water pressure and the bathroom looks straight out of the 1980s. It is the kind of hotel where when you scratch beneath the surface nothing is as luxurious as it seems.

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel and, although good, is not quite as good as it was. It is situated in what is probably the best spot in Faro being right on the waterfront. It is clean, pleasant and airy and the staff are generally very good. However, there were a few downsides on this occasion. Although the breakfast bar/restaurant is very pleasant with fantastic views, we did not feel the menu choices for dinner were as good as before. The menu seemed smaller and quite a lot more expensive. We did try the gourmet tasting menu which at seventy-five euros each was expensive for what we got. Service was also poorer than last time. We were served by five different waiters which I feel is unacceptable and were kept waiting for long periods between courses. The whole meal took almost three hours to arrive which is far too long. Before the end we had lost interest, we were also irritated by the pushy waiters who insisted on describing every course despite the fact that we have been eating similar meals since before they were born! They also repeatedly asked us if we wanted water or wine or something else which, had we wanted it, we would have asked for it. This may not be the fault of the waiters who may be doing as they are instructed but it made what should have been a celebratory meal both long and tiring. I have to say that after that experience we ate out every night and found several local restaurants serving better and cheaper food much more quickly. Loved the hotel and enjoyed the stay but would not choose to eat there again.
