Very spacious and well equipped apartment/hotel with ocean view 10 minute walk from nice beach. Lovely deck over looking pool and ocean for having breakfast and a drink or three before dinner. Parking garage with designated spot for rental car was nice to have. Pool and gym facilities were very good. Staff were very helpful and responsive. Well stocked grocery store 5 minute walk away. Being able to wash some clothes after two weeks was great. They quickly dry on the balcony using the provided rack. We liked Luz because of the nice beach and ability to go for long walks along the ocean both in the east (to Lagos) and west directions.

What an amazing property, the appartment was really complete and luxurious, there was nothing that we have missed in the appartment. We came for 4 days/3 nights but it felt much longer. It feld like a complete holiday. From nesspresso cups in the kitchen till a small rituals giftbox in the bathroom. The staff is really helpfull and so friendly and always there to help. The property is nice and green and the pools, 3 outside and 1 pool and jaccuzi on the inside are really clean and beautifull! This time of the year there are a lot of older couples and just a few families. The bar and restaurant on the property have nice food and drinks. The town is really cute, a supermarket close by and the restaurants and the beach on walking distance. Love to come again!

We stayed in a 2 Bedroom apartment which was huge. 3 balconies. Separate kitchen. Large family bathroom and large en-suite to the master bedroom. The main balcony was big enough for a large table which would seat 4. Large living area. The pool and pool areas are lovely. Wasn't too busy, no issues getting a lounger everyday. The temperatures of the pool were perfect. I found the staff very helpful and professional. We made a couple of requests for the room before our stay which were fulfilled which was great. Its situated near a supermarket. The beach in a short 5 to 10 minute walk away. The only reason why I didn't give 5 stars are as follows. There is an extra charge per night for a baby cot. I was aware of this charge before I booked so it wasn't a big deal. But I feel this should be something that is available without an extra cost. Also as we have a young child who was in bed at around 7pm each night there could have been more options on TV. If you have a young family and are basically stuck in the apartment each night then the TV options were poor. 3 English channels worked but were fuzzy. There was a Sky box but it didn't work. I'm unsure if this was just our apartment or this applies to all. If you don't have any young children then this wouldn't be an issue as I'm sure you would be out in the evenings. These are minor gripes. Overall. Very nice apartment in a decent location. Would stay again.

My partner and I have just returned from a 7 night stay here at Estrela da Luz and we're incredibly unhappy to have come home!! Upon arrival (29.09.2017) we were welcomed by a lady at around 3pm, i missed her name unfortunately. She was delightful and filled us with confidence about the hotel, also taking the time to go through some activity brochures and maps etc. We were VERY happy with the apartment and received a courtesy call just minutes after getting there to make sure we were happy with the room. It was a good size with a kitchen (we didn't use so couldn't comment on equipment) and bathroom (only complaint with bathroom was the silly glass door that you had to wiggle and breath in to squeeze around to avoid drenching the entire bathroom) however the water pressure is brilliant! There is a balcony with table and chairs. A flatscreen tv and sofa - we used a couple of times in the evenings before getting in to bed, found some english channels and football to keep him satisfied! The A/C is quite loud, but we didn't need to use it every night. The bed was a little harder than what we are used to but you can't have it all! The shutters block out the sunlight completely, so you almost get to wake up naturally - apart from general sounds around the apartment blocks and other people opening their shutters (rather loud but nothing major, the resort as a whole is quite a slow starter). Towards the end of our stay we noticed the hotel getting a little busier and discovered that the walls in between the apartments were very thin, we listened to next doors talk sport one evening (very loud and very late), when this happened a second time we knocked on to their door to resolve this with ease - the TVs are mounted onto the wall so its understandable that you are going to hear some noise. The indoor pool and Jacuzzi was lovely, with glass panels to see into the adult pool. We spent quite some time in the early evenings relaxing and doing some lengths, the sauna was quite disappointing as it wasn't really very hot. There are changing rooms, showers and lockers you can use with these facilities, although my key to the locker didn't work so i just took my bits into the pool area and put them onto a sun lounger. There are two outdoor family pools (we went in this once to play a bit of ball, it was nice but extremely cold!!) and an adult only pool that we lounged around quite frequently in the afternoons, slightly warmer than the family pool but still chilly - nice though, as it cools you off from the sun! Plenty of sun loungers, we went just out of season so i'm not sure what it would be like otherwise. I also like that you CANT reserve loungers with a towel when your not in the area. The pools each had a 'pool side bar' which had unfortunately closed the week that we arrived which was slightly disappointing that we couldn't have a few drinks whilst sunbathing, but not the end of the world - there is a shop just a short walk down the road that we occasionally fetched cans of pop and water from (they also sold bottled beer, i saw a few people drinking these.) I could see there are speakers dotted around too, so i think they play music during the 'season,' i'd be interested to see. We spent a couple of evenings in the bar / restaurant attached to the hotel called Hugo Beaty, very nice and excellent service with friendly, attentive staff! We had ordered and mostly drank (i took a bottle back to the room too) quite a few bottles of rose, and they well and truly looked after us, providing a few nibbles 'so that we do not have a bad head in the morning' :). There is also a hidden games room around the back of the bar which we hadn't realised! The bar also shows sports on the TV. The beach is very close, around a ten minute walk. There are a few places open for breakfast but most open at around 10 on wards and close around 10pm - lots of different places to try! Our favourite restaurant was the Dolphin, a South African theme - i recommend the Ostrich steak! One or two sports bars, 'Kellys' or 'The Bull' - However, there aren't really any 'upbeat' bars for drinking, its all mainly restaurants. All in all, a fantastic holiday and at some point in the future - i'm certain we will return!

First stay here, in top floor, 3 bed flat. Flat was immaculate. 2 balconies. Extremely well equipped. Towels and bedding were spotless. Bathrooms even had soap, shampoo & shower gel. We were told cleaners would visit weekly but were in 4 times over 2 weeks and would have been more had we let them in. 24/7 reception is great and staff are pleasant, helpful, quick and a credit to the business. Pool areas very clean and tidy. Landscaped gardens make the area feel very private. Gated area as well, which helps safety. Bar food at pool from Hugo Beaty was delicious. Only downside was boiler did not heat enough water for 2 showers in a row - we left it with staff to fix. It is not a hotel but feels very close to it - when the water went out for 1 hr one evening we were able to call reception for help. Highly recommend.

When we arrived we were given an upgrade to an apartment with four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread over two floors. Staff were friendly, the apartment was spotlessly clean. We chose to go to the beach rather than the pool as there was more going on.

Nice apartments with dishwasher/washingmachine, near to Luz beach, freindly and service minded staff. Pool area for adults and pool area for familys. Bar and restaurant on place, Television showing sportsgames. All in total a very nice experince.

This is the best hotel we have stayed in! Nice employees, and the room/flat was excellent. We had an 88 square meter flat with a large balcony. The kitchen had both dishwasher and laundry, and the equipment was really complete. We missed nothing, and hope to be able to return.

Third floor apartment in the main building was huge, clean, with beautiful sea views. The garden, the pool, the restaurant, everything was ok. And over all was very quiet and relaxing. The staff were more than friendly. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were excellent. It was very quiet at the time of year we were there. The accommodation was huge and the pools were lovely. 10 min walk to the beach too. Would recommend
