Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea this beautiful hotel resembles an 1800 era chateau. High ceilings and ornate decor. The lift dates from 1906 and is quite a feature. The staff were excellent and ever helpful and courteous. The bar and breakfast room offers spectacular views and good food. We were amazed at the low prices charged for food and drinks. Definitely a hotel to chose in Alexandria

Awful hotel! 1200EGP ~ 70USD is way too expensive for what you get. And that is the rate for Egypt residents!!! Old and run down. Rooms are extremely noisy all through the night thanks to the lack of insulation. Not the dirtiest place I’ve seen but certainly not clean. Windows are very old so had bugs coming in. Curly hair in the towels provided. Carpet torn up etc. Worst thing however is the service. AC was not working in our room so asked for it to be fixed before going out for dinner. Of course never happened just as any other request. Instead of actually helping out, people at reception keep reminding you that you still need to pay... what kind of hotel are you? When finally checking out the receptionist accused us of ‘stealing’ one water bottle from the minibar. He kept calling room service to go up to our rooms to figure out where the one bottle of water went. In the meantime we stood there waiting to receive our bill. Finally he wrote down ‘I did not take one bottle of water’ on a piece of paper and made us sign it. Never had anything like it. I don’t know if anyone would want to return to this place after spending a night in one of their rooms, but I am sure that if this is how they treat all customers at checkout, they don’t need to worry about returning customers anyway. There is another historical four star hotel that is about the same price in Alexandria. It’s just a couple of meters down the road but there are worlds in between....

The Breakfast room and terrace are spectacular!!! Very wide variety of breakfast food.Generous hours.until 11:30 AM!! My room was huge and beautiful. ! Peeked into other rooms which were MUCH smaller. Staff was good - adequate, polite friendly. Everything was clean. Front rooms are LOUD, but I expected that. They cant shut down the street for you.

Really they don’t know anything about hospitality , they charge you 20 pound for the complementary water at room which is any any hotel should be free of charge even for first night Their guest relation don’t know even to talk or deal with you they looks like hide for something . I took a picture for the reception as a souvenir , the guest relation sought I picture her so she get so nervous and sad why you shoot me although I show her my photos that she not appear in any pic, impolite totally and unfriendly , she didnt even apologize for her bad intention For the room Unclean balacony and really hotel not worth even half money you pay for it, poor breakfast And finally they try to take money from you by any mean !!! I booked 2 days which mean 1 night , they charge me 2 nights with 3 days and when I insist that I want only 2 days with one night they ignore me request and ask me that you can extent your stay , Really this is ridiculous and not acceptable Don’t do there , no recommended at all

Unfortunately the past glory of this institution has not carried on. Mediocre service. Badly trained staff but friendly. Mediocre food. Poorly renovated rooms. User unfriendly. Superb view of the Alexandria coast and sea. Centrally located. Not as I expected

Its a beautiful hotel, we booked for their suite which was wonderful.. the staff was friendly and helpful. The room facilities is the downside of our stay. The hotel do not provide minibar even in suite. We called to ask for kettle they dont have it! My son was not well I was not able to make hot drinks for him. We called room service TWICE they never came with the drink. I also called housekeeping for iron.. they dont have it!! If I had known the lack of facilities in the room I would have stayed elsewhere.

The location is very convenient, the sea view rooms having one of the best seen in Alexandria. The hotel hospitality is amazing. The stuff is very cheerful, helpful and professional. Ghassan, Abdulhamid and Nour at the front desk assisted me few times during my stay. Also I would like to mention about the honesty of the hotel as I forgot a big amount of money at my room safe and left the hotel. I would like to thank Ghassan as he checked and followed up till I received back my money. Deffiently I recommend this hotel in Alexandria and it won't be my last time staying there!

The hotel have a priceless sea view and it is located in the heart of the city, the building is quite historical, the staff are cheerful and helpful. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choices. Bedroom are convenient but the bathrooms are a bit smelly due to the poor ventilation system. Car parking is a bit of challenge.

Royality at its best...the place dates back to 1906, every single painting in the rooms, hall, reception & staircase is 100% genuine...a lot of effort was put into this place to restore it without abolishing its authenticity...staff is super nice, helpful, polite & veryyyy friendly. SUPERB view....spacious rooms...nice food variety for breakfast. Being in downtown Alexandria, parking in front of it is not allowed, seek the valet parking or park a bit further from the hotel & enjoy a nice walk to avoid getting your car wheels clutched & receiving a ticket! Enjoy the scent of the past! Pictures attached taken by me of the royal suite & Hotel

I booked 2 nights in this hotel online. And one day before my arrival date I discovered there will be a severe storm in Alexandria on my same dates. I called the hotel to change the date not to cancel and they refused saying this is management policy. I live in Dubai and was coming specially to stay in this hotel for this weekend but they ruined my ezperience even before going there. Such managements need to learn how to gain their customers' loyalty rather than making a ONE NIGHT profit and lose in every other way. Shame.
