Windsor Palace Hotel

We stayed 2 nights at that beautifully restored hotel with historic interior, antique elevator & an elegant rooftop terrace overlooking Alexandria's seashore. Rooms are vast & clean, staff couldn't be more helpful. Special thanks to the hotel manager. We would definitely go back. Hany from Canada

This hotel is D-I-R-T-Y. Part of the reason is that it is on the windy waterfront, bookings are down and the staff doesn't seem to care (room wasn't vacuumed in 3 days) and the hotel is undergoing renovations and the construction dust is not being contained. The smell of paint is overpowering. Only one elevator works - but it is totally cool one from the early 1900s. Rooms are small and the furnishings don't fit them. The chairs were so filthy I didn't want to touch them. The same was the case for the disgusting, moldy carpets. I had to keep shoes or socks on to avoid making contact with them. If you don't have an ocean view - we did not - your room will overlook a smelly alley (interesting, but not pleasant.) The hallways are dimly lit - so easily resolved with new, low voltage bulbs. The breakfast buffet was among the poorest we had in 3 weeks in Egypt. The staff were clearly unhappy, probably because the guests weren't. Stay some place else, there are lots of options in the price range. All that said, the Windsor Palace has a great view of the bay and the citadel. The view from the bar is spectacular and the bar is pretty good. Limited adult beverage selection and pricey, but that's the case all over Egypt.

Booked in here for one night after leaving the hotel I'd booked and paid for already. When I arrived the hotel didn't have my booking made via The receptionist Hadier was very helpful and sorted everything out for me. Also allowed me to check in early. The reception area is very grand with huge chandeliers and oil paintings. Obviously the hotel has seen better days but it is still a glamorous setting. The lift are the old cage type, as you would hope to find in an establishment like this. My room was beautifully decorated with gilded panelling and cornices. A huge bed with crisp fresh linen, flat screen tv and tasteful furniture. I had a small balcony with a side sea view. The bathroom had a bath with a great shower in it. Nice fittings and toiletries. Safe in the room, air-con and very good wi-fi. There is a roof top restaurant with fantastic views along the corniche. If you're looking for old world charm and elegance in a great location. This is the hotel for you.

The hotel is too old! It needs some serious renovation. It used to be beautiful in the past but not anymore! Sheets were stained with a few blood drops! The food is not really good! Tough the staff is very kind and they are trying their best to make you have a nice stay but despite their efforts, one cannot overlook the bad conditions of the hotel

My friends and I spent the weekend at the hotel in one of their royal suites. Let me list the good things first. - I like the classic style and the furniture as if it's coming out of a painting. - Great location downtown and overlooking the Mediterranean. - The breakfast buffet and the restaurant on the top floor is an excellent start of the day. Amazing view. - Spacious rooms. I recommend higher floors to be far from the noisy busy corniche road. On the other hand, the reception desk lady and manager need better professional training to handle problems. Our booking was confirmed and we had a confirmation email, but found the lady telling us that our suite was unavailable as they cancelled our booking because of the credit card needing update, even though that wasn't a legitimate reason for cancellation. We had to be rude to get our suite back. Only 1 lady at the reception desk during the weekend handling extremely busy check-in taking ages with every guest. We were 3 in the suite but it had only 2 towels and 1 tiny shampoo, shower gel, lotion, and no soap. We asked for stuff enough for the 3 of us, they got it the next morning after reminding them for the third time. Renovation with quality in mind and staff professional development can make this hotel one of the best in Alexandria. However, I would go back only for the top floor view and location.

I checked in the hotel with my father and we left almost immediately after seeing our room. Tried using the wifi while checking in but the front desk agent said it doesn't work on iPhones and apple devices. We made our way to the room and the hotel looks like something out of a horror movie. Very old and seems to be falling apart. We got in the room and it was pretty small. When I tried opening the closet door it almost fell off completely. The bathroom smelled horrible. The view from the balcony was nice but the balcony itself was kind of shaky so I didn't want to stand on it too long. While in the room I tried to access the wifi with a non-apple laptop but it still didn't work. So no wifi basically. After that I just told them I want my money back and I left. Other than that the staff was friendly and I didn't try the food. Oh and the hotel is supposed to be "quaint/old fashioned" but the elevator seemed a little too old fashioned. Definitely NOT a 4-star hotel.

The hotel location is perfect, the view from the rooms and the top terrace is amazing, couldn't better. Great hospitality at the arrival and very nice stuff. The hotel is will old style, which is really different and nice. The rooms are good, bathrooms and rooms are clean. one thing, is the parking. They are trying to help with it, but should work on it. The breakfast has a good variety, but maybe needs more improvement with the taste. Overall very nice and really enjoyed our stay Thanks a lot for your nice hospitality. Keep it will come back soon for sure :)

Hotel is nice and historical with very nice rooms and atmosphere, the view is amazing facing the sea and they have very good buffet breakfast that you can find all your choice of food. Friendly staff and helpful, good luck.

It was a nice stay, not fancy one. But I recommend no to use the laundry there, they ruined my faux fur that costs a fortune simply cause they had no idea how to dry clean it. So please make sure that you tell them how to clean your clothes.

The hotel is good, staff are very friendly, the view of the breakfast restaurant is amazing, sky roof in the hotel roof is very nice & interesting. but the room space wasn't convenient & the car parking is horrible.
