Stayed at the Paringa for three nights on a work trip, and as the cricket was in town plus school games prices were higher than normal, which is a pet hate of mine when hotels do this. The check-in/out was all good with very good service, the rooms were great (nice and spacious) with plenty of room to spread out, however the running water in the shower took forever to get right, too hot then too cold. Older style bathroom needs some work. Noisy location and could hear everything on the street all night hence not a good nights sleep was had. Location was nice and central, but the hallways look like something out of a hostel, certainly needs a paint and freshen up.
Location is extremely good; there's a Haigh's Chocolate store just nearby; coles and woolworths are approximately 300 meters away. Room is clean and big, equipped with a tiny fridge. Lots of restaurants nearby.
We chose this hotel for the location. It's old and needs a giant upgrade. There was no daily room service, no facilities at the property when checked out of room, you had to go over the road. We cancelled our return visit and went to a different hotel.
Great value for money. In the heart of everything and only about 2 minutes walk to the mall. Close to all transport and entertainment. Clean and presentable room. Helpful staff. Would be happy to stay there again.
Arrived on Sunday late afternoon so had to check in via hotel across the road. Was upgraded to the top floor. Lift access in a very popular location. The location is right in the heart of the city and is known as a party street. Excellent cocktail bars around. Unfortunately one of the light bulbs was not working. Also the hot water was not ideal suddenly changing from hot to cold then hot again.
Had no issues with the place , room was good , water pressure in shower was a trickle but you learn to accept it , I sleeptpretty good bed very comfy , there is a little noise from outside but that’s what you expect if you wanna stay on the busiest nightlife streets in Adelaide, close to everything no need to catch taxi, just walk , very safe place to stay , no issues at all
Although the staff were incredibly helpful and lovely, the accommodation itself leaves a lot to be desired. Me and my partner only stayed one night, and thankgoodness it was only one night. The bathroom was so small that my partner could barely fit in there (which we found so amusing!) It was definitely an experience, the kind of place you would stay when you just want to explore and have somewhere to keep your luggage.
I didn't book via TripAdvisor, but via another channel. Read the reviews on here though. Thought to myself, hmmm, how bad, I guess I totally underestimated the whole noisiness of it all. Not all is the works being done on Bank St, with its all night works, but also Madam Josephine down the street, and also it being a walking side street... NO SLEEP AT ALL. As its said, AVOID, avoid, avoid. If you are a heavy sleeper, and can sleep through anything, then give it a go, but if you are a light sleeper, go maybe with something else. Would be great if they had put in double window insulation, or double glazing or something, ... but for $129, eeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk... Sorry about that, but for all else, its ok, but noise, no way would I do it again.
Average motel but comfortable and reasonable for price. Staff friendly and helpful and reception closes early keeping drunken Handley street people out. Security to get in. Car parking convenient. Not 5 star and luxurious but ok and bed is comfortable.
Best hotel for budget travelers and those looking to do a short stay in Adelaide. Super central location makes it easy to go around the city on foot. Staff are helpful. Basic amenities are sufficient.
