Encanto is special...firstly, it is an architectural marvel...meticulous attention to detail, thoughtful design ...I could go on! Next, its probably the best location not just in Acapulco but perhaps in the world..and I am comparing it to Cape Town, Sydney, San Francisco..etc. Nothing comes even close. We stayed in the corner room..201. Highly recommend that you pay extra and get the corner room. You see 3 different parts of the city and water...almost a 270 deg view. We are foodies and passionate about good service. In my own business, we burn ourselves trying to please the customer. So to see everyone in the team, right from Enrique - the GM down to Edgar, Brendan and Said who served us at breakfast and pool...awesome service...thanks guys! You are the best.
Horrible. Absolutely Horrible. Terrible. Absolutely Terrible.
the hotel needs many improvements to get 4 stars...especially for the safety of the guests such as: hand bar in the shower room, hand rail on the stairways,....no desk in the room,no lamp light for writing,no coffee maker,
My sister and I spent 3 nights at the fabulous Hotel Encanto in mid-June 2011. My overall rating is 4 stars, mainly for the beauty and uniqueness of the property, the high-end ammenities and cleanliness of the room, and the courteous staff... but in my opinion, there are a couple of areas needing improvement. First off, the hotel is about a $20 US, one-way taxi fare to any of the usual touristy destinations, which makes for lovely seclusion, but should definitely be factored into traveller's budget for getting around. Aside from having to shell out more to get to attractions (including the beaches), the hotel restaurant -- while providing delicious and intersting foods -- is also ridiculously over-priced ($22 lunch entrees, $11 desserts, and $4 beverages!). So the location of the hotel also considerably increases the amount of money a guest will pay for food. In addition to this, we arrived about 2 weeks before the peak season and I'm pretty sure we were the only guests of the hotel for 2 of our 3 nights. Therefore at times the staff were either hovering uncomfortably, or they forgot us. Given the lull the hotel was in during our stay, the offer of a free room upgrade and a shuttle service (even one-way, or for a nominal fee) would have pushed my rating up to 5 stars. (That said, our experience would have been PERFECT for honeymooners or lone/quiet travellers looking for a gorgeous setting off the beaten path.)
