4/5 Good

"Kids loved the waterpark and mini golf course - was a great way to bribe them to come hiking all morning in Starved Rock then have fun activities to come back to. Rooms were spacious, clean and beds were comfortable. Some facilities could use some renovation (some arcade machines didn’t work, showers were a bit dated, locker rooms at the waterpark had some broken locks or missing toiletries, room could use some extra outlets, etc.) but nothing crazy or super concerning. We had a great time, would highly recommend and would return."

4/5 Good

"I loved that it wasn’t a regular campground with sites one on top of the other. The sites were nicely spaced with woods in between other guests on all sides. We enjoyed a bonfire for a couple hours. My husband and I were way too warm sleeping under the down comforter. I wish I would have brought a flat sheet to cover up with. One was not provided. It was 64 degrees overnight so we didn’t need heat or a/c. The step up/down to the bathroom and to the bed platform are almost too tall for someone with bad knees. I felt misled into believing the location was part of Starved Rock State Park. It is not. The location is a half hour away from the park. The many amenities were much appreciated. The s’mores for two were fun and it was nice to have pour over (decaf) coffee and Camomile tea bags. A wine glass or two would have been nice. There was also 2 instant oatmeal cups to have before our early morning hike. We would stay again with an off-season rate or a deeper senior discount."
