Beautiful property. Friendly staff. Delicious food.

We stayed 2 nights here at the end of our 3 week trip around Indonesia. We are just a couple, but was upgraded upon arrival to the 2 bedroom villa. This thing was massive and catered to our needs. The staff was great, helping out with everything we needed. Our flight was at 10 pm and they opened up the spa for us to take a shower before our journey home, which was fantastic. The room service wasn't very expensive (compared to other hotels), but the kitchen they had lacked any of the pots/pans even though they had a stove. The location is a bit far, but we basically stayed 2 days in the villa so it was perfect, but if you were looking to use this as your location to explore Seminyak it is a bit of a walk to the main strip or the beach.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and had a wonderful time. If not for the imperfect wi-fi functioning, which got a little tiresome (we thought there would be wi-fi in the room, which turned out to be misguided, so we had to use the restaurant/library wi-fi, which was down more than 3/4 of the time), I would say it was perfect. Even including the fact that we were there during rainy season, living in the jungle in such luxury was a fantastic experience. We were nestled away from the bustle of colourful Ubud, and could have stayed in luxurious retreat the whole time if we wished, but close enough to visit on a daily basis. The hotel has a free shuttle into town twice a day, though with slightly awkward timings (morning at 10 and afternoon at 4) whilst a taxi cost 150,000 idr. The restaurant on-site also serves delicious food -- a little more expensive but given that we were captive customers with no other options and they could've seriously marked up the prices, and that the quality of food was excellent, we were willing to pay the sum as it remained within reasonable range. The staff are all lovely, and very very helpful. You get used to things taking a little more time; the rhythm was part of my enjoyment of Bali. Next time (and I do intend to return - the mark of a wonderful experience), I would probably opt to stay for more days, and stay in most days, to enjoy the pool, the view, and things like yoga and meditation on-site.

Great staff and extremely friendly. Every service and amenity included with all inclusive, including free room service 24/7 as well as complimentary laundry services which is not heard of most places. Overall very impressed with our stay.

Great Hotel!! With Organic, Vegetarian and local Restaurant With shuttle service to Ubud Center (4* in ammenities due it didn’t pick me up from the town to the hotel twice). Be advice to use it only to use it from the hotel to the town... In General it’s a Great Hotel I’ll be back...

The food is fantastic. The service is over the top and the villas are top shelf. It was a WOW EXPERIENCE!!!! Chauffeur driving around town was a very convenient plus !!!! Would definitely return here. Very impressed !!!! Thank you THE BALE !!!!!

The fact that the hotel is in the “middle of the forest” helps hide a lot of the details that is lacking. By no means was our stay at Royal Pita Maha unpleasant, but this is not a 5 star hotel. In my opinion, a 5 star hotel has to go above and beyond. If it wasn’t for the private pool in the Villa and the nice views this would just be another ordinary hotel. Overpriced food/drinks (not beat quality in comparison to the price) short staffed specially in the Spa area. Again, i want to be clear when i say that our stay was not unpleasant, we enjoyed our private pool and main public pool area very much but be prepared to see plenty of “man, that could be done better or why is this broken”... little things people, little things.

The closeness to the beach where all our local friends are. Way over priced for what you get, very disappointing in that respect

We stayed three nights here. Check-in process was confusing and not seamless. Staff did not accommodate food allergies at restaurants well. We always had to remind them and explain to them what "no dairy" meant. Restaurant mediocre at best. Bathroom facilities, flooded, no toilet paper, clogged, and nothing to wash your hands with - unacceptable for a 5 star property. Butler however, was wonderful, as were cocktail hour, and the room itself was beautiful. Laundry service was also a nice touch. Restaurant staff, really needs work. For the price you pay - you can get far better food, service, and staff that understands you in Ubud area. Would not go back. We were very disappointed. We had better times, food, etc. for a 1/3 of the price at other 5 star properties in Bali.

We had a valley pool villa and it was amazing. The views from our pool were gorgeous and the room itself was just as nice. The staff were the best though and even remembered our names. A little outside from downtown ubud but they have a complimentary shuttle service that gets you downtown. Great place to stay in ubud.
