Asa Bali villas are in serious need of recapitalization. The villas desperately needs sprucing up! Toilet seats in the lobby are badly stained, there are burn holes and human secretion stains on the lounge chairs, and the amount of roach spray in the bathrooms are at toxic levels. My rating of ok, is very generous only because the employees were nice and responsive when we ask that the repair our shower - which was sending water flowing out of a lighting fixture. The issue had us concerned about the possibility of electrocution.

I stayed 4 nights.. lovely place , great staff too and the restaurant great breakfast a lot options to have . I recommend this place to stay.

We stayed here for 3 nights, and had a wonderful time. If not for the imperfect wi-fi functioning, which got a little tiresome (we thought there would be wi-fi in the room, which turned out to be misguided, so we had to use the restaurant/library wi-fi, which was down more than 3/4 of the time), I would say it was perfect. Even including the fact that we were there during rainy season, living in the jungle in such luxury was a fantastic experience. We were nestled away from the bustle of colourful Ubud, and could have stayed in luxurious retreat the whole time if we wished, but close enough to visit on a daily basis. The hotel has a free shuttle into town twice a day, though with slightly awkward timings (morning at 10 and afternoon at 4) whilst a taxi cost 150,000 idr. The restaurant on-site also serves delicious food -- a little more expensive but given that we were captive customers with no other options and they could've seriously marked up the prices, and that the quality of food was excellent, we were willing to pay the sum as it remained within reasonable range. The staff are all lovely, and very very helpful. You get used to things taking a little more time; the rhythm was part of my enjoyment of Bali. Next time (and I do intend to return - the mark of a wonderful experience), I would probably opt to stay for more days, and stay in most days, to enjoy the pool, the view, and things like yoga and meditation on-site.

my husband and I stay in the #32 villa, it's quiet and nice, the condition is good and we dont think it's old or need any renovation. pool is cold tho so we only went there once for about 10 minutes, so I dont think it's necessary to get a private pool villa because the water is cold and you cant have maximum fun in there. the breakfast is buffett and there's not much selections but the view is nice, you can hear the sound the river. my husband and I took a elevator to get to the downhill and there's a bridge connecting to the other side, we walked around and saw people riverrafting and the hotel is building more villas around the river, very exciting! they also have cows and goats so we got a chance to hold baby goats, so cute! in the last day stay, we have a 2 hours massage in the tree house, thats the best view and service is good and the price is expensive.regarding the shuttle to ubud, I suggest the hotel should extend the service hours, they now only do between 10am and 6pm which is not convinience enough since the ubud area wont be slow down until 9pm, hotel should extend the shutter hours to at least 9 or 10pm. we had to hire a taxi and cost 70K back to the hotel. regarding the dinner at hotel, if you can grab some food outside, then please do, hotel food is too expensive and they are very slow, food is just so so. we found this very close restaurant nearby called Warung Kayana, they open at late night, food is good and price is cheap. I highly recommend you to try.

Beautiful and peaceful resort . We loved our villa. The villas are a must get from this resort . It is so worth it. Delicious breakfast with a breathtaking view.

Our honeymoon stay was the most relaxing and amazing hotel stay. The staff are so friendly, kind and inviting. They are so attentive and accommodating. We were blown away.

The fact that the hotel is in the “middle of the forest” helps hide a lot of the details that is lacking. By no means was our stay at Royal Pita Maha unpleasant, but this is not a 5 star hotel. In my opinion, a 5 star hotel has to go above and beyond. If it wasn’t for the private pool in the Villa and the nice views this would just be another ordinary hotel. Overpriced food/drinks (not beat quality in comparison to the price) short staffed specially in the Spa area. Again, i want to be clear when i say that our stay was not unpleasant, we enjoyed our private pool and main public pool area very much but be prepared to see plenty of “man, that could be done better or why is this broken”... little things people, little things.
