Albuquerque International Sunport is the primary airport serving the greater Albuquerque area. It is located at 2200 Sunport, SE, less than five miles southeast of the downtown area. Eight major passenger carriers currently serve the Albuquerque airport, including American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, Great Lakes Airlines, New Mexico Airlines, Southwest, United and US Airways.
The four-level parking garage next to the ABQ terminal is designed for hourly and short-term parking. The long-term parking sits just north of the short-term garage and has 500 spaces available for travelers. If you can't find a space there, try the 357-space long-term lot available on the arrival-level roadway to Girard. Long-term parking at the airport is very reasonable at just $7 per day.
You can get to the airport via New Mexico Rail Runner, ABQ Ride bus or local shuttle service using the Sunport Shuttle. There are three cab companies that offer taxi service, and you can expect the fare to cost roughly $20 to get from downtown Albuquerque to the airport. When you purchase your air ticket with Orbitz.com, you may find that you have saved enough money to cover the cost of airport transportation.
Grab your coffee at the airport instead of stopping on the way, as Albuquerque International Sunport has a variety of full-serve and grab-and-go venues ready to serve you. The Black Mesa coffee shop and bakery and the Los Cuates full-service restaurant are located on the third-level lobby before you go through any security checkpoints. There is also a food court in the A/B connector area as well as several eateries and lounges on the A concourse. The B concourse has limited options, with only the Watch! Sports Lounge and Grill. Have a good trip wherever your flight may take you, and don't forget to use Orbitz.com the next time you need to find deals on flights from Albuquerque International Sunport.
