Fly to Toncontin International Airport

Flying into Toncontin International Airport is a treat, no matter how long you have to spend here. Only moments from Tegucigalpa, you ll find landmarks like the Metropolitan Cathedral, National University, the Basilica of the Virgin of Suyapa, and the La Merced Church; all are free to see and never fail to amaze.

If you have time to spare, there are 14 museums in this amazing city. Start by visiting the National Anthropology and History Museum, which is housed in the former residence of President Julio Lozano Diaz, and was reopened after restoration in 1997.

You can also explore the National Art Gallery, the Republic History Museum, the Museum of Man, the Telecommuncations, the Military History Museum, and the Archaeological Museum aptly display the history and current relevance of the Honduras.

Shopping is an amazing experience here, especially if you peruse the street vendors, but there are also many malls like Paseo Los Castanos, Plaza Miraflores and Mall El Dorado. In 2012, City Mall opened, the largest shopping mall in Central America. It houses over 300 shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and stores.
