No staff were available upon arrival. There was no coffee provided in the room, the restaurant was closed on Saturday when we arrived, and the room was not clean.

Bananas Guesthouse was very convenient, exactly as advertised, totally adequate for our needs; would stay again. The rooms of the Guesthouse are behind a bar/restaurant of the same name. The key pick-up boxes are just at the back of the restaurant area and you self check-in after 4, getting your key and access to your room. The room is basic but was clean and the fridge worked. Didn't use the air conditioning as the overhead fan was enough with open windows. That was the only thing I'd note, that many of the window louvers didn't work. But enough did. We found the location conveniently nearby a few restaurants and bars, and we walked less than ten minutes to the meetup point for our biobay kayak tour. Didn't interact with any of the staff of the restaurant/bar or Guesthouse so can't comment on friendliness but the communication via instructions they sent was excellent.

The room was clean, had a fridge to use, the AC worked fine even though I never used it just the ceiling fan. The location is excellent, close to dining, walking the boardwalk on Esperanza and easy to find on a map. The internet worked great, no problems. The sound of crickets at night was awesome, you just have to wait til kind of late for the nearby club to stop playing music around midnight or so sometimes. The staff at the restaurant were super awesome. Overall it felt safe, relaxing and best for those who loves the outdoors.

Very disappointed of this place, First of all there is no front desk to check in, you have to find a staff from the restaurant to help you out. For the price we played we would expect some better. On top of that the place was dirty. We could not sleep at all after my wife waking up on the middle of the night screaming, i huge spider was on her face. We would have been off sleeping in the car and could safe ~$200 that we paid for that .

The property is very conveniently located to restaurants & beach activities. Check in & check out process was simple. The room was clean & provided the essentials. However the 'courtyard' area you walk thru to get to the rooms was trashy & beds weren't very comfortable. We just needed a place to sleep one night after a Bio Bay tour so it worked for our purposes.
