Very kindly staff

The hotel is located a few minutes by cat from ferry dock. Not impossible to walk to but definitely recommend driving as it is up on a hill. The guest house building is kept up well but is not updated. Certainly comfortable and clean. Just not modern. A light breakfast of hard boiled eggs, bread, cereal, coffee/tea and some fruit was provided. Extra beach towels and bottled water was provided. The staff also gave us a map and helped explain where to go for food, beaches, and the bio bay. They definitely tried to be as helpful as possible. The room also had AC, ceiling fans, and a kitchenette with a microwave and mini fridge. We stayed in the family suite which was great for a family of 4.

This place is close to the ferry terminal but not entirely walkable if you have kids and luggage but the place itself is amazing. Very clean and spacious and a good view of the ocean. It is walkable to some very good restaurants. Parking can be little tricky if you are not used to parallel parking and it also steep. Kelly and Penny are such a lovely hosts. I'll stay again here on my next trip to PR.

The Sea Gate is a magical place. It sits on a hill overlooking the town of Isabel Segunda, and it's got history and character. I loved the artistic, creative touches around the property -- the walkway, the rustic sculptures scattered about . . . -- and the art hanging in our room. It's clear that the Sea Gate has been in Penny's family for years and is well-loved. It's nothing like an antiseptic chain hotel, and, thanks to the roosters, it's not quiet -- so if you're looking for those things, don't come here. If you enjoy the outdoors, chickens, horses, iguanas. . . and your really want to feel like you're living on a small and friendly island, you'll love it here.

This stay was a unique and beautiful experience. The staff was exceptionally attentive and kind, the room was clean, and the atmosphere quaint and family friendly. The one aspect of this property that you must know is that the roosters I. The surrounding area crow incessantly and there is not really a sound barrier between your room and the outdoors. Earplugs are a MUST if you wish to sleep—and please know I grew up in the country and am used to noise. If you are armed with ear plugs staying here is a special experience that a standard hotel does not even come close to.

We loved our stay at Seagate! Penny and Kelly were so friendly and helpful. The property is clean and authentic. We are excited to come back.

Free upgrade . Great A/C and great Customer service . Parking under cover at home . Internet could have been better , on and off .

Chic, quiet and charming old-timer up on the hill in the forest with pleasant views in day time and at night. Nights are filled with sounds of cokis and cicadas with beautiful skies and stars. Peaceful rest.

Very friendly staff

Close to the ferry. Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel offers a nice continental breakfast.

Owner was amazingly helpful with island info

Clean, safe for families, beautiful view, horses on site, great staff especially Ms Penny!

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was a bit dated but very comfortable. Nice little kitchenette.

Excellent property, amenities and staff!!! I recommend!!

We were pleased with the property and the rooms. At check in Kelly helped us book a golf cart and bio bay tour since we hadn't done that ahead of time. Kelly and Penny also let us store our bags and use the outdoor shower after check out since we had an afternoon ferry.
