Very disappointing stay. Know hotel well as stayed before it change to Le Roy. Always said we wouldn’t come back but gave it a second chance. It’s had a surface make over, bar moved to a better position and some wood detail added here and there . Rooms have been painted and all new soft furnishings . Furniture the same. Reception staff are lovely and sorted out our numerous issues but we shouldn’t have had those issues. Bed wasn’t changed for 8 nights and then only done after 2 visits to reception. Supposed to be changed every 3 days . This didn’t happen and had to report back to reception asking for it to be changed . Lazy housekeeping. Dust on the metal of the lamps, outside table not cleaned. Just general lack of care or interest. We lost power in our room one night about 11:30 pm. Only security were on duty. They organised a change of room for us about midnight. Thankfully we hadn’t had much rum !!! No acknowledgment from management or apology. No letter under the door to say our room had power back. Nothing. No beach bed at 10am at hotel. Was told guests lie on them from 8am. Not good enough. It’s a beach front property that’s the attraction. Beds were provided when I complained but there was no umbrella available which was fine as we don’t use them. I questioned why they are selling day passes when guests of the hotel need them. Restaurant same old appalling service . 55 mins to get food places in front of you. Breakfast was like warm

This is a lovely hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous and address any needs you have. The bar and restaurant staff were awesome. It is great to be able to eat a meal and then walk onto the beach. The hotel also provides lounge chairs and beach towels. I do wish they provided clips to secure towels to the chairs.

Indisposition and rudeness defined our experience with the reception staff at Hotel Le Roy. We arrived at 10am and politely asked whether a room might be ready before the official check-in time, as we were travelling with our 88-year-old grandmother. The hotel had been booked specifically for daytime use so she could rest before a late-night flight. The morning receptionist said the room would be prioritised and contacted housekeeping. Throughout the day we followed up several times, only to be pushed back repeatedly and met with increasing animosity from another receptionist. The helpful staff member from the morning was no longer on duty, and despite remaining polite, the same courtesy was not returned. At 3:58pm, with a confirmation stating a 3pm check-in, I was told the time had changed and that only one room was ready. An email sent three days earlier mentioned a 4pm check-in, which went unnoticed, though the hotel had been chosen specifically for its earlier check-in. When I pointed out that it was nearly 4pm, I received dismissive and illogical responses suggesting nothing was guaranteed. The room was not ready until 4:18pm. Upon entering, we found facial hair in the sink and no soap in the dispenser. The second room was similarly disappointing. Restaurant service was slow, items were out of stock, and dishes arrived missing ingredients without warning. While the food was pleasant, the overall experience was a waste of money and a disappointing end to our holiday.

Extremely accommodating and friendly staff. Very nice restaurant and gorgeous beach. I did not have a very good first impression due to the location, however, it grew on me. So happy I did not book the Sandals nearby as it was too massive. Le Roy was far from luxury but had a nice boutique feel.

This was our first stay at Hotel Le Roy and it was absolutely unforgettable! The hotel exudes charm and the staff are incredibly welcoming. Our room was gorgeous, with a stunning ocean view that made every morning feel like a dream. Right on the beach, we had lovely loungers available each day to relax in. A huge shout‑out to Phill, who always made sure everyone was well looked after and took the time to say hello—truly appreciated. We also loved the two happy hours daily, sipping gorgeous cocktails; the rum punch was my favorite. On our last day we chatted with Chris, who was just as friendly and welcoming. What a fantastic trip—didn’t want to leave! We’ll definitely be back ❤️

The hotel Le Roy has a lot going for it. It sits right on Dover beach and is close to many bars and restaurants. The beach front rooms offer a great view of some terrific sunsets. Guest experience could be improved with better service in the onsite restaurant and more detailed attention by the management to in room cleaning and any maintenance matters should they arise.

There was no hot water for the shower. At dinner, there was no mention of any shortages in the kitchen when presented with the menus. When my wife ordered the fish sandwich she was told there was no fish. She then ordered chicken and was told there was no chicken. Finally she asked what was available and was advised to order the hamburger which she did. For information the hamburger was very good. I ordered a salad with bread. I was advised there was no bread but could have corn bread. My wife’s order came to the table before my salad. I asked her to start which she did. My salad did not come until after my wife had completely finished her dinner. At breakfast the next morning we both ordered eggs from the menu and were told there were no eggs. We both ordered alternatives which were fine. A worse hotel experience and dining experience would be hard to imagine. But the hotel does have a beautiful spot on the beach and the staff were excellent and pleasant.

Lovely hotel right on the beach. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Room was a good size, clean and modern and the bed was super comfortable. Balcony gave a great view or the beach and sea.

Hotel Le Roy was awesome. The rooms are a good size and are clean! The staff are great…so friendly and helpful! The location was great too, right on a beautiful beach and close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

It was a wonderful trip from beginning to end. My first time here and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and quiet, garden view was nice. I was close to the beach with chairs and beach towels included. Beachfront bar with service on the beach was a nice touch. Food menu was original and good.
