We really enjoyed our stay. Nice modern room with fabulous river view, very comfortable bed. The room is spacious, functional with lots of storage. There is a small dining table with chairs and microwave so we could enjoy a light meal comfortably. There is water station, self serve laundry. All the staff are so courteous and helpful. The location is quieter with easy access to city center. 10 minutes walk to subway and restaurants. Hotel provides shuttle service to subway stations too.

I chose this hotel because it was close to where my friends lived in Hong Kong, and recognized this hotel was not as centrally located to HK island or Mong Kok. The hotel itself was modern and well-equipped. The elevators were fast, the wifi was reliable, and the rooms were relatively spacious. The gym and pool being on the top floor was a nice bonus. I was a bit perturbed that the laundry and dryer each cost $40 HKD. Staff were nice, though. The free area shuttle was useful, although it runs on a schedule that doesn't have a consistent frequency or route, so it requires some careful attention to the actual schedule. It does save a walk to the nearby MTR station, although after one ride, I elected to walk each time I needed to head to the MTR since it was just more convenient for me. I did not try the restaurants, although they seemed to be enticing. Overall, I thought the value was good for the price I paid for this hotel. The next time I visit my friends in Sha Tin, I will certainly consider staying at the Alva.
