Waking up to the rising sun on the Bay was spectacular. So peaceful and rejuvenating. Make sure you checkout out Calvert Cliffs State Park too. You’ll get a workout on the multiple trails and a beautiful shoreline at the end to find some natural treasures!! Sunshine Cottage was well equipped and clean as a whistle. Beds were amazingly comfortable too. Hosts Rhett and Kay couldn’t be more responsive to inquiries. Overall great experience and would recommend for a lovely getaway. Thank you!! Sallie

We had a wonderful stay at this beach house for our anniversary. It’s a cozy little home with its own backyard beach, and it was incredible to open the door and have the ocean right there off the deck. At night, when the deck lights hit the waves, it felt peaceful and magical — truly the perfect weekend getaway. I would love to return and bring my family so they can enjoy this beautiful place as well. Thank you for such a lovely stay. One only thing, they need to fix the deck door and the key pad entrance but that didn’t change the fact that we loved the place.

Our stay at Sunshine Beach was pleasant, relaxing and definitely right on the shore of the Bay!We are avid fishers and have fished this area before. Although our time staying here didn't bring us many fish, there was an abundance of crabs and that was equally satisfying.Our stay was comfortable and offered us the rest and refresh we hoped for and the getaway we needed from all the busy and hectic. Solomons Island is a must-go-to and an easy close by drive. Our neighbors during our stay were so friendly. Being able to walk right out the door to cast a line was perfect. Our hosts were very kind and easy to work with.Our plans are to return!

Peacefull and calm

Property is the best of both worlds. It is fairly remote with plenty of wildlife to see, deer, toads and of corse birds and ocean creatures, but also close enough to plenty of restaurants, bars, stores and historical sites. The house is quite nice and on a dead end road, which provided my family with a great place the enjoy the last stop on our vacation, relax and play cards together by the waters edge. I would recommend carefully watching any kids that want to go for a swim, as this is essentially the ocean without lifeguards. Not that we had any issues, and nothing stopped us from taking a dip.

Pupcation getaway

We take our dog away yearly to a location with water where she can swim. We have stayed at many vrbo and house rental locations. This was by far my favorite. The house is a hidden gem and a very special place. Not only did our dog love swimming daily but we also enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, quiet surroundings, and beautiful beach front steps from the door. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants a peaceful stay and a place to recharge hope we make our way back one day!

A little piece of heaven on earth

If you want to relax by the water and getaway from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. The cottage is updated and cozy with amazing views. Just step off the patio onto the sand. Cottage was stocked with essentials and extra goodies to make it feel like home.

Such a treat!

This was our third trip to the little yellow house! We absolutely love and adore our time here. This time we used the fire pit and it was a great addition! The kids love being right on the water and we love it too. Can’t wait to go back! PS, you must check out St Inie’s in Scotland, such a gem!

Beauty and Relaxation

The Bay is beautiful, and to enjoy it from this property all you have to do is open the door and step onto the porch. That puts you within 20 feet or so of the water's edge. The chaises can be brought onto the sand for an ideal beach day in the sun. The house is squeezed in tightly between two others, but there are only two properties to the south and then several hundred yards of open beach; so there's room to spread out if that's important. The house has everything you could need or want and was very clean and well-appointed. Appliances are up to date and the decorations are tasteful. This was ideal for my wife and me and would also be for a family with little ones. The neighborhood is very remote with perhaps 10 properties along the road that parallels the beach. Everything else is just woods and farmland till you get to the main roads.

Sunny beachfront get away

Very cute beach house literally on the water! Great place. Well equipped. Easy drive from the DC area. This is the perfect place if you want to get away from it all and relax to the sound of waves on the beach all day! Loved the fire pit that could up of be used in the tree area or on the beach. There isn’t a lot around so make sure you bring your own stuff to make meals and snacks.

Wonderful week at the beach

Our family spent a wonderful week right on the beach and can't wait to go back! The cottage is basic, but totally sufficient for o week spent mostly outside and was very comfortable in the evenings. The location--right on the beach--was unbeatable.

Nearby Getaway

I just needed a short getaway time, and when a friend who had just stayed there recommended Sunshine Beach, I thought I’d take a look. It was perfect…just the right size for me, and less than 20’ from the water’s edge! Everything about it was perfect! From Long Beach walks in the morning, to watching the sun go down in the evening, all was so relaxing! A storm rolled in my last day there, and that was so awesome to watch as well!
