It was a lovely stay, the hotel is very nice indeed, lovely staff as well, all very helpful, the room was really lovely and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom facilities were good too, lovely shower.

Weekend break

The hotel staff made the holiday, nothing was too much trouble, they were friendly and helpful, had good local knowledge of interesting places to visit too. The room had a sea view which was lovely to wake up to, it was warm, clean and comfortable.

Our room was beautiful, check-in was quick and friendly, parking was convenient and checkout was quick. The location was perfect for north and south bay. We loved it and will be back.

Shiny and new, with a sea view too!

Amazing sea views from the newly completed Executive Sea View room. Everything looked brand new, because it was! Tastefully decorated and very comfortable. What could be better than waking up to the sound of waves lapping against the shore and view of the sea. The staff were also extremely welcoming and friendly.

I paid £190 for one night in what I thought would be a superior suite. This didn't include breakfast. I was shown a ground floor room with a view of the bins. Managed to change to a sea view on the third floor. Elevator only goes to floor 2 so stairs up another floor. My room was nice but there wasn't a chair to sit on. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was smalll but nice. No complaints really, but I think I paid too much for this room.

We would definitely stay here again

Friendly welcome at the bright and well decorated reception. Our room was on the third floor and the lift only reaches the second floor but that wasn’t a problem. Our room was bright, clean and had a great sea view. It was small but had everything we needed. We were here for the cricket. The result of the match could have been better but the location was pretty perfect.

one night weekend stay.

We stopped in the first floor sea view room for one night. I managed to park outside the hotel early in the morning and went to reception to see where the hotel car park was. I was given brief instructions where it was. I could not find a parking space and was disappointed the reception never made me aware I could purchase a parking card for the street. This caused me to pay £16 to park at the NCP carpark until the following day. The room was clean and comfortable. The sea and coastal view was excellent. I didn't have breakfast. I thought £15 a head was excessive. The location is good for walking to the south or north side and the town centre.

I booked a double seaview room 6 months in advance, to arrive and be told they had overbooked. Initially they said I could have an upgrade and showed us to a suite, which was beautiful. Within 10 minutes the staff knocked to say they needed to move us to a different room but it was still an upgrade. We were shown to a tiny, ground floor room with a view onto what I can only describe as a building site. Half built fencing with black backing hanging off, bare dirt,ld this was unacceptable and not an upgrade, I was told it was, in fact, an upgrade because it was called an "executive room" (strangely not listed on the website as a room type). It was, in reality, a significant downgrade. When pressed for at least a partial refund, it was insisted that because it was "technically an upgrade" they couldn't offer any refund. As a result we cancelled the booking as £135 for one night in a stuffy box room with no view is an absolute rip off. We also missed our dinner booking because of the hour it took to be moved around and dealt with the staff. I also arranged in advance to have a spot in the carpark as I'm a blue badge holder. At the time I was told there should be space, but there's plenty of parking on the street and would be able to park directly in front of the hotel if not. I contacted them on the day to ask where the car park is and they wouldn't tell me, saying to find somewhere on the street and that "Availability can be hit and miss, but there is usually a space available."

Wonderful hotel let down by tiny bedroom

First of all would like to say that the hotel is spotless, with a lovely bar and modern dining room. The staff are very helpful and friendly in fact we were upgraded to a sea view which was stunning. We parked in the free car park which is a rarity these days. However the size of our bedroom let it down. There was barely room to squeeze past the bed to get to the toilet for the person near the window. This is a big deal for elderly guests who need to access the toilet during the night. Younger guests may not find this a problem. In spite of this we would definitely re- visit this lovely hotel, just being a bit more selective about the type of room.

Das Hotel hat eine erstklassige Lage. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick sind klasse. Die Sicht auf‘s Meer ist traumhaft schön. Das Viertel hinten raus ist sehr schlicht und nicht so prickelnd. Man muss ein paar Meter laufen um in schönere Ecken des Ortes zu kommen. Herausragend ist das Personal, alle, wirkliche alle Mitarbeitenden sind super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch der Chef des Hauses ist toll, er hat uns bei einem Problemchen schnell geholfen. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist typisch englisch und sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind komfortabel, die Betten gut. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

The hotel was emaculate it was newly refurbished it was the best hotel i have stayed in the staff were extremely polite and really helpful the breakfast was fantastic well worth the money i would recommend this hotel to anyone if you want a good experience in Scarborough this is the place to go Trust me you won't regret it i will be going back again thank you to all the staff at Clarence garden hotel for one of the best experiences i have ever had
