Didn’t want to leave!
Best resort I’ve been to in a long time.
The views are stunning. The beach is private and very clean and well kept.
The entire property shows attention to detail. The gym was excellent. I would have liked mats at the gym but it is very well equipped
I was looking for a relaxing holiday and that is exactly what I got.
The ONLY negative was you have to call room service to get ice and almost every time requested ice I had to call more than once.
I always felt safe at the beach with the lifeguard on everyday.
Well done Camino Real Zaashila!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
The property is fine, my bad experience was with the amenities, no clean towels, no coffee, didn't change the sheets, water leak in the shower tub and the cap of the shower tube was broken.
We have been here in the past but it has been a few years. In the past, the staff was extremely nice, and so was the management this time. The girls at the reception desk were rude. They would roll their eyes. The food was not that good, but very expensive. Even the manager was rude when we tried to complain. We'll never go back there again. It also has become run down cracks everywhere, it's not like it used to be veey disappointed.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Pros:Excellent Pool.
Cons: Food fair and expensive. No Happy Hour. Had 2 days without warm/hot water, finally fixed.
Property beautiful, great pool, and private beach service excellent. Breakfast buffet worth the price.
The disapointment was the room inside did not reflect property, it was dated (old curtains), noisy AC with must/humid smell, TV with choppy casting, even hotels promo channel pixeled (I would not expect this from a Camino Real hotel)
I would go back for what property offers, that superceeds the room, but room underwhelming
I like the hotel is clean, the pool was great, and we have the beach. the staff was very helpful all the time, this is the second time that we went there.
Always great to come back to Huatulco and specially to the Zaashila, like our home in the beach, everybody at work there make our stay fantastic, I really would like to thank everyone by name, but instead I will thank you all for your efforts to make this and every year we have gone back a great one!
The property was beautiful, however the room was mediocre considering they were just updated. Air conditioning broke down and the fan was rusted looked like it was going to fall down. Outside furniture was all rusted out and chipping apart. No coffee maker! Two tiny bottles of water a day. We ran to the small shopping and restaurant down the hill for water , snacks, and some meals.
No information provided at check in or in the room as to where things were or times things were open or closed. The Starbucks won’t serve food until after 11.
There were some great staff who were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet hotel.
Camino Real was a great property and if the food wasn’t so expensive this would be an easy to repeat location. Breakfast Buffet was $490 P, per person and there were other options. But still a little pricey. Lunch at the pool grill was good and affordable and We just ended up eating outside the hotel for dinner. The pool and beach are wonderful and the resort is very quiet. We felt bad for the restaurant staff as many guests were eating out at nearby restaurants mainly due to pricing. Would have preferred to stay and eat in a few nights at least. Nice resort.
We stayed 5 nights, and booked our reservation in Dec 2024. We noticed that Expedia was advertising the room rate much cheaper and including breakfast during the time of our stay. I inquired at the front desk if the hotel would release the reservation without a charge and we could rebook under the much cheaper rate. The front desk staff agreed, so I called Expedia to have them release the reservation. After an hour on the phone with Expedia and near the end of the call, the front desk staff changed their minds and would not release the room without charging us for the remaining 4 nights. They also said they couldn’t do anything about including breakfast with our reservation. We ended up spending much more for our reservation and had to purchase breakfast, which is a steap amount of pesos per person.
Also….
The hotel cleaning staff were also very pushy and woke me up on 2 occasions when I had the do not disturb sign on my door.
The beach surf was rough all 5 days of our stay, so we had to leave to go to different calmer beaches
Overall, I feel like there is much better value in other resorts in the area.
They only thing they have is a beautiful view and nice pool. The room was pretty run down. Furniture was old, inside and on patio. We had a leak in our roof. Our room didnt even come with towels. They do not provide a coffee maker. You can request one but it only comes with one regular and one decaf pods. You have pay for more. They have a coffee shop there but it doesnt open until 9. For a five star, expensive and non all-inclusive resort we were extremely disappointed. We stayed there only because a family member was getting married there. Restaurant and bar is really expensive. Will not go back and do not recommend. Find somewhere that cares to make your well earned holiday a good time.
