Our stay at the Rass Mandal exceeded our expectations. It is a one-of-a-kind place with the peace and serenity of the mountains while still being conveniently close to downtown Santa Fe. It was the perfect place for our retreat and I would recommend for anyone looking for an experience for their stay.

Everyone raved about how wonderful this place is - we had a group of women - about 10 - and we enjoyed the pool and just relaxing on the grounds - we did yoga, went out to dinner - the location is excellent - but mostly we relaxed at the beautiful home - we had dinner delivered one night - and we would certainly book again - perfect for our next family reunion!

Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful Home!

We had a great experience at this property. The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well-stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.The location offered the best of both worlds: easy access to nearby attractions while still feeling remote and peaceful. It was the perfect quiet retreat, away from the hustle and bustle. We especially enjoyed the pool and balcony view.Our host was friendly, responsive, and provided all the information we needed for a smooth stay. Check-in and check-out were seamless.We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

What a beautiful paradise!

The photos don’t do this place justice! It is stunning. And there is plenty of property to explore. The pool was perfect to jump into after a morning hiking or exploring Santa Fe (which is about 15 minutes away). The kitchen is very well appointed. The bedrooms feel luxurious. And Richard was a very accommodating host.

It has set the standard for all future family reunion dwellings.

There were 10 of us, 8 adults and two children. Our 43 and 35 year old sons and spouses did the check-in as we arrived later. They indicated that Richard was very nice, polite and thorough in his tour/check-in. The home is spacious with multiple gathering areas. The pool and hot tub are awesome. We did not use the sauna. Our daughter and grandchildren “camped out” in the cabin one of the nights and found it comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit, the kids got out a lot of pre bedtime zoomies in the yoga pavilion. The upstairs observation area was awesome and the views from there are stunning. Downsides or things we noticed that could be improved upon: the primary bathroom sinks do not drain well, the little bridge over the pool needs some anti-skid treads, we could have used some tissues, but made do by using toilet tissue to blow noses, I enjoyed the sunken tub/shower in the primary bathroom several times and even enjoyed some face time with a couple of deer. I would have liked a grab bar of some kind to assist in entering and exiting the tub. I found the decor lovely, but a few in my family thought it was too much for their taste. Beautiful pieces, reflection of the owners tastes and travels. Overall, it was a very positive experience in this home. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring Santa Fe and surrounding towns.

Annual Family Friend Vacation

We stayed 4 nights for our annual family friend vacation. The house was extremely clean and it had everything we could ask for. The views from the entire home are amazing and swimming in the pool and hot tub were a dream. We would highly recommend this house since it is so close to downtown as well.

Best rental property I've ever stayed at

Rass Mandal is such a special place and will have a special place in my heart forever. I was there with 10 of my closest friends for a fun, restful, intentional "bachelorette" weekend before my wedding in a month, and we couldn't have asked for a better space. From the common spaces, pool, hot tub, observation deck, soft lights, art, sound system, cushions, couches - EVERYTHING! We were also able to use the yoga shala with Keisha based on Richard's recommendation who was amazing. Rass Mandal is and was so above my expectations and imaginations, and the best house I have ever stayed at over a weekend.

Amazing house for our large family!

A wonderful time

Rass Mandal was wonderful! The property was exactly as described. A unique place that had a wonderful atmosphere. It was very comfortable and had so many amenities. Richard also thought of everything. I've never stayed at a place where the kitchen was so well stocked! The printed guides that he had waiting for us were also so helpful. The grounds are beautiful. The sound of the wind chimes as the breeze blew through was so relaxing. I would enthusiastically stay at Rass Mandal again the next time I am in Santa Fe. I and my family had a wonderful time.

Perfect Spot for a Family Wedding

The property is simply amazing and the host was magnificent. We came in town for a small family wedding and had an amazing time. My kids want to go back again already. Beatiful sunsets, amazing accomodations and the host was 5 star. I can't say enough good things about this place. We have stayed at several places around the country, and this was by far and away our favorite.

Thanksgiving Week 2024

My husband & I met up in Santa Fe with his daughter and our four grandchildren (17-24) from San Diego, Santa Cruz, Portland, & Portales (NM). Rass Mandal was ideal for our group of seven, there was plenty of space to congregate and for privacy. Lots of rooms filled with collectibles from the owner's world travels, it's ecclectic & fun. The views are spectacular during the day and we enjoyed nighttime star-gazing from the "balcony" aka rooftop terrace. A couple of us saw shooting stars! The hot tub was perfect on a chilly morning or evening. We were treated to a visit from a buck and four mule deer on the property one morning. Lucky to notice them through the windows inside the home! We all delighted in 2" of snow overnight before Thanksgiving Day, it made for a scenic holiday. We created a fabulous feast in the kitchen and shared a memorable celebration at the grand dining room table. Everyone had a great time! Thank you, Richard, for opening your home so others can enjoy it. I highly recommend Rass Mandal for an unforgettable getaway.

Unique and wonderful place

Sets a very high bar for any vacation rental we might do in the future! What kind of place has so much unique, beautiful art throughout the house and property? Additionally the rooms, beds, baths, sauna, pool, grounds, kitchen, everything was very well cared for, clean, and comfortable. We had a great time, this was the perfect choice for our group of 5 staying a few days in Santa Fe.

Early Fall at Rass Mandal

Our family gathering in early October at Rass Mandal was a wonderful experience. Everyone in our group enjoyed the stay. The weather was perfect. The house is spectacular. The pool, hot tub and sauna were so nice. Santa Fe is a lovely, historic southwest town with so much to offer and Rass Mandal is a great place to stay while exploring. Richard, the host is very welcoming and accommodating. He is available at all times, communicates exceeding well but does not step in when not needed. Nothing but praise for this facility and its management. We would gladly return.

Fantastic Getaway

The house is filled with adventure…every room is different and unique. Gorgeous views from the deck and pool areas makes it a vacation in itself. I brought 7 ladies from across the country for a business event. They were impressed with all the details and comfort the house provided. Highly recommend!!! The owner was amazing as well!

Interesting, fun and unique property

Rass Mandal is a special place

If you seek staying in a unique museum-like property Rass Mandal is the perfect place for you. We spent 10 days with our children and grandchildren ages 10, 14, 16, and 18 and enjoyed every minute. The kids especially liked the pool and hot tub. The house is immaculate and large enough for everyone to spread out. Since there were 9 of us, eating out was challenging but the well appointed kitchen made it a delight to prepare gourmet meals for the family. The dining room had ample space for all to be together; when we wanted to be. The outdoor property is expansive offering short and long hikes, birdwatching and expansive views. The owner is readily available to answer questions or help with needs you might have. Rass Mandel is the perfect place to make lasting memories. It is a special place and surpassed our expectations.

An Experience My Family Will Never Forget

We wanted to find a special place to celebrate our 60th anniversary, my 85th birthday and my wife's 81st with our family of eight. We chose Rass Mandal based on its web site and VRBO reviews. It was perfect in every respect! The first day we just marveled at its beauty and amenities. By the second day Rass Mandal became one with us; its ambiance and inspiration influencing our thinking and decisions every day. Our host, Richard, was cordial, informative and helpful - and left us alone to just enjoy the experience. Rass Mandal is truly a magical place that left an impression we will never forget. Family Reunion at Rass Mandal
