Beautiful Mediterranean Cottage on larger estate.

Built in 2016 by an architect for his parents to retire in, this guesthouse is accessory to a larger Mediterranean home, on an acre parcel. This 1,200 s.f. cottage includes all of the best amenities, with a progression of indoor to out doors paces. The cottage shares the acre property with the main residence, however it has a separate entry and driveway, and separate yard spaces. The cottage has private access to a heated saltwater pool, and spa, which is occasionally used by the main residence. Single carport with direct access to the unit, and additional parking to 2 to 3 other vehicles. The space features an indoor/outdoor room with with an adjacent secured outdoor patio. Good views of the ocean and immediate yard.
The cottage is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 2 bedrooms. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

The house was wonderful, clean, well organised, modern and perfect. The beds were very comfortable, and the living room was large as was the kitchen with all the modern requirements. There is plenty of private parking. The pool was accessable and very nice to use. The host will put heat on at your request. The hot tub was really hot and ready to use. We really loved our stay and the hosts were always accessable and very quick to reply. We loved the outdoor patio and fire pit. We will love to come an stay again in the future.

I wanted to express how happy we were spending the 5 days at your beautiful cottage. We took my 87 year old mom with us and all was extremely comfortable and easy to navigate the house and pool area. We loved spending our mornings in the enclosed dining area for breakfast and dinner, late afternoons at the pool playing games and enjoying the pool and hot tub. Late evenings and bbq out back with the beautiful fire pit was the perfect ending to each evening. So comfortable and roomy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Lived that the fridge included an ice maker and water dispenser. I took morning walks around the neighborhood and took many beautiful pictures of all the beautiful plants and succulents. We have already recommended your place to many people as they have seen all my pictures and just love them.We will return. Thank you for being so quick in any communications we had.

What a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. Tom and Eileen were such wonderful hosts, fast to respond to any questions prior to and after booking. The cottage is beautifully decorated, super clean, very well appointed with wonderful linens and towels. A beautiful neighborhood. The outside patio was my favorite place to sit and I hated to leave. This is one of the most superior properties we have stayed at. As good as the photos look, the actual listing is better. There is no drive-by traffic, the listing is very quiet and even though this is a cottage associated with a main house, you enjoy your privacy. Yet it is 10 minutes from the funk zone (restaurant s and stores) and the ocean. . There is a salt-water pool and a hot tub with a cabana. Both are clean and of high quality. The cottage is spacious with top end appliances. There is a lanai with a nice grill and fire pit, and an additional glass enclosed room so you can enjoy the views regardless of the temperature. The hosts are so helpful and really extended themselves to make sure we had a memorable stay. We would love to stay here again when we return to Santa Barbara.

A spotless and beautiful cottage with gorgeous views. Everything you could ever ask for including two bedrooms with comfortable beds, two full bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, lovely family room with fireplace, and an indoor/outdoor dining room and that's just the inside! Comfortable, except for some minor maintenance issues. Bedroom #2 has only a small screened window and was not ensuite at the time of our visit. During our stay we emailed the owner with a question and it was 72 hours before they got back to us. Workers were in the pool area daily during our stay.

Tom and Eileen’s cottage is beautifully designed and appointed. Only the highest quality products provided for our use and enjoyment. Fully equipped and supplied. A beautiful retreat!

The place is wonderful! Two of us best friends had a get away for Easter week and it was so relaxing. Tom and Eileen left a plate of fresh-baked goodies and a chilled bottle of wine for us, then a few days later a cute carton of fresh-laid eggs. We felt so pampered! The weather was constantly shifting, but we found the property allowed for everything. We really liked the bird-feeder, and sweeping views. Pool and spa were lovely. So easy, and the hosts seemed very amenable. Will visit again!

Lovely Cottage, Lovely Views

We loved staying in this beautiful cottage! We are a family of four with 11 and 14 year old children and we were there for a week. The expansive views make the cottage feel bigger than it is. Although we didn’t do much cooking, we prepared simple meals and we had everything we needed. For those looking for info about the kitchen, it was well appointed and lovely. We also enjoyed the bird feeder that’s in the perfect place to provide a show while you’re having breakfast. The owners made us feel very welcome and were responsive when we had questions, and we had plenty of privacy on their shared property. The home is about 5-15 minutes from most major attractions and it felt like a retreat returning there after a day of activities. We hope to stay there again!

A Perfect Retreat for Families – Highly Recommended!

We had an incredible stay at this VRBO property, and I can't recommend it enough! The cottage was not only beautiful but also thoughtfully designed to make the most of both the indoor and outdoor spaces. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the layout – the placement of windows and doors provided excellent privacy while still allowing us to enjoy the gorgeous California weather. The floorplan was perfect for our family, creating an open and spacious feel without ever feeling cramped, even on the one rainy day we had, when we cozied up inside.The kids, ages 11 and 13, absolutely loved exploring the large property. They spent hours picking fresh oranges and lemons from the trees, feeding the birds, and watching the rabbits. It was such a peaceful, nature-filled experience for them – a perfect blend of fun and relaxation.While the location initially seemed a bit far from everything, it turned out to be fantastic. Most of the restaurants we dined at were only 5-10 minutes away, making it easy to explore the area without any hassle.This property would also be ideal for a longer stay. The comfortable, well-thought-out design, combined with the beautiful surroundings, made it feel like a true home away from home. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly retreat.Whether you're looking for a weekend getaway or a longer stay, this property is a gem. Could Not Have Been Better!

We had a wonderful time on this vacation and our stay here was wonderful!Tom & Eileen were fantastic hosts who answered what few questions we had very promptly.
