My recent hotel stay was a complete disaster and the worst I've ever experienced. It all started when I arrived to a completely deserted lobby and had to find an employee in the kitchen just to get checked in. Even though my room was ready, I was forced to wait for someone who knew how to use the computer. The check-in was finally done by a new employee who was being told what to do over the phone by a manager who wasn't even there. I was then told the free breakfast started at 8 AM, which was useless since I had to leave by 7 AM. Things got even worse when I got to my room. It was right above the kitchen and had a strong, awful smell of food. The room was also disgustingly dirty. In a dresser drawer, I found a previous guest's used UNDERWEAR, pantyhose, and a SANITARY PAD. Later that evening, the noise from the kitchen was unbearable, with LOUD BANGING, yelling, and vibrations that shook the whole bed. The last straw was finding a long black hair stuck to the shower wall. I was so grossed out by everything that I slept in my clothes with headphones on. I had to write this review to warn everyone away from this place!

This is a lovely old inn in a small town. Lots of charm and interesting décor with wonderful, helpful staff. We also ate at the restaurant twice – one great meal and one ok. But very nice ambience. Keep in mind that this is not some cookie cutter chain hotel. Note about the area, there are several restaurants/bars within walking distance. But not on a Sunday!

Dining facilities are very nice and the staff is friendly. The rooms need a little more attention to detail cleaning wise. Steps upstairs needed cleaning. Room was very limited in electrical plugs. They need to put in socket extenders. Bathroom was small but adequate. I really like the place's history and I feel the owners do a good job of keeping the place historically intact.

This is an older home/inn with lots of character. The no contact keyless entry was an excellent plus since we arrived after 10:00pm. The continental breakfast was limited in choices, but bagels and muffins were fresh. The coffee needs some work, it did not have a good flavor, but the atmosphere set it apart from other places we have stayed. We would higly recommend staying here, just look for a coffee shop nearby.
