Our First Two Nights in Ecuador

This was our first trip to Ecuador. We stayed our first two nights at Lugano Hotel, and we had a very positive experience! We arranged for airport pickup through the hotel ahead of time, and after flying all night, it was a welcome sight to have a driver with my name on a paper waiting for us! The cost was reasonable, more convenient than finding a taxi, and our driver was very nice. The room at the hotel was clean and roomy. We had two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a small kitchen and living room. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The woman at the front desk (I wish I knew her name) was wonderful--very helpful, kind and patient with all of our questions!! She spoke English and helped arrange a tour for us and transportation during our stay. The included breakfast was good, and included a few hot items, as well as juice, toast, coffee, etc. The location is a little out of way from the new town, and the old town, but we were able to get taxis easily and inexpensively. My only complaint might be that the pillows were hard, lumpy and uncomfortable--the rest of my family didn't complain though:). Overall, a very good experience for our family.

Good location but noisy

It's a small hotel with a feeling of big hotel - staff were nice but a little cold. Suite style rooms, not stylish but somehow comfy. There are a lot of noises at nights (bars around) and during the day too.

Nice choice in a good area - five star staff

Great location, comfortable modern furnishings in the heart of Quito - tons if restaurant options, 2 blocks from the largest park in the city. The staff was AMAZING very helpful, warm and professional!!! Only issue there is renovating/construction going on to add a spa and other nice amenities...

Great boutique hotel near Carolina Park

Very nice hotel with kitchen and living room. Good breakfast was offered daily. Staff at front desk and porters were excellent. Only thing to improve would be the heating/temperature control in the room which vascillated between hot and cool. Otherwise, it was great.

Great choice for Quito

Very nice (and safe) place to stay in Quito, close to nice malls, parks, restaurants. Hotel suite was spacious for a family of five. Only suggestion is to make the breakfast a little better for non meat eaters

Small rooms

The rooms are modern and clean but extremely small. The neighborhood is better during weekdays, since during weekends everything seems to close down before 7. But generally we felt relatively safe

The hotel staff was very polite and professional. It helped greatly too that many spoke English to me. Security was always present 24/7. As far as the room it was well stocked and was quite nice. The view of the city of Quito was fun and we did enjoy it. Some things in the room need improvement on the cleaning. The curtains have not been washed anytime recently and were just dusty and yucky. Though the floor was generally swept daily the closet floor was skipped 2 days and had dirt on it and staff was notified and the problem was promptly fixed. We enjoyed our stay and also liked and appreciated the spa located next door!

Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Hotel is new, clean, beds are comfortable & breakfast is very good. The location is excellent for restaurants, walks, malls, and seeing the city. Very close to La Carolina Park as a reference point. The price is very reasonable.

Good family choice for lodging

Very comfortable. Staff was gracious and helpful and honest. We inadvertently left an envelope with cash behind in the room and were very pleasantly surprised to have it returned upon returning to the hotel again a week later. No onsite restaurant but location was near many dining out options.

Nice hotel room but really tiny bathroom

I stayed only 1 night and the hotel is nice and clean. The suite had everything you need. The breakfast was very good. the only thing I didnt like was the bathroom. It was very small almost like an airplane bathroom. Although very clean with all the amenities that you will need.

Lugano Suites - Quito

All the staff in the hotel are friendly and readily answer any question or request you may have. Arrangements were made for us to be picked up at the airport and then back again when we left Quito. At breakfast, fresh fruit is always available. The hotel room is cleaned daily and bottled water is replaced in the fridge as needed. The flowers in the main lobby are gorgeous and a new arrangement is on display every few days. The penthouse terrace allows for a great view of the city. My husband and I will certainly stay at Lugano Suites the next time we are in Quito.
