Hotel Riu Vallarta - All Inclusive

"Pros: Housekeeping was always timely and cleaned rooms well. The staff is attentive and helpful. The bar is well staffed and employees are quick at making drinks. The steakhouse restaurant was a treat to have as an option; it is first-come-first-served, but we were seated immediately. Cons: there’s no conditioner in the shower, only shower gel. We had a rental car, so on our trip to the Malecón in Puerto Vallarta, we stopped at Walmart to buy shampoo and conditioner. They had some for sale in the hotel gift shop for 3x the price. In the buffet, there was a large sanitizer bottle in a visible spot for the first two or three days; but the rest of our week there, it was gone; I asked for it and it was outside the front door. After serving myself, I had to put my plate down, and walk outside the door to apply sanitizer before sitting down to eat. Also, I was disappointed to not have conchita bread available for breakfast- something that’s ubiquitous in Mexican cuisine. Lastly, I felt it was inappropriate for employees to use beach towels, which guests use daily, to wipe up sandy water around the pool, and worse yet- to wipe up vomit after a guest vommited next to the pool- gross! Other than that, it was a pleasant experience staying here."
