When we arrived Friday at 5:00 pm (check-in is at 3:00), we had to wait at least 10 minutes for the staff to appear behind the desk and check us in. I even called, "Hello?" several times. Crickets.
The dining area smelled like musty feet.
The elevator to the third floor shimmied and shuddered.
The room itself, when we walked in, had hard, broken pieces of plastic on the floor, and a dirty bath towel lay on the bathroom floor.
Worst of all, my bedding has black smears (looked like ash) and brown smudges (which I chose to believe was chocolate). Between 9:00 and 10:00 am the next morning we asked the morning desk person (a different girl than the afternoon before) for housekeeping to clean our room (which they do only every third day unless specifically requested). The desk girl "added us to the list." At 4:30 pm, I reminded the afternoon desk girl (the same from 24 hours earlier) that we needed room service. She said she would check with housekeeping and see what they could do. At 5:00 pm, I watched the room service people leave the building, and now, at 9:30 pm, the room remains unserviced, and we have run out of Kleenex.
I intend to ask for a discount when we check-out tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
