The home was very clean and very well appointed. The hot tub was amazing! The views were beautiful! The one clear night we had was so full of stars!We had very wet weather for 2 days. Didn’t use the fire pit or the fireplace. Bring your own wood or logs for fireplace. The firepit is gas.The propane grill worked very well. Kitchen was well furnished with plates utensils and cookware.Would love to stay again!Debbie, Chris. & River

We enjoyed everything. The hotel was perfect very nice grill where we made some steaks and chicken. Beautiful sunsets. Very quite neighborhood. Easy place to start your day in Yosemite. Only an hour from the airport! comfortable beds and linens. Lovely fireplace. If you are arriving after dark, it’s a little more challenging to find it the first time. Very private!

Oasis outside Yosemite

We had a fantastic time at the property during our visit to Yosemite! Jazzy sent wonderful instructions on how to reach the property (GPS is unreliable in that area), and they were very responsive with communication. We had such a great time we wished we could have stayed longer! Highlights: GAME ROOM! Our family loved the game room. The ping pong and pool tables provided us hours of entertainment which is awesome to keep teens off screens! Hangout space: plenty of room on the couch and the chairs for family movie nights. Huge TV!! We loved the large space. Hot Tub: Even though it was hot during the day, we waited for a cool evening to take a dip. So fun! Beds: All three beds were comfortable and rooms were spacious for our family of 4. King bed was a fantastic nights sleep for both my husband and me—and I’m picky about beds due to back issues. We stopped at the Vons grocery store in Oakhurst and stocked up on breakfast foods, coffee, snacks, beer, and pre-made sandwiches for lunch. There are plenty of dining options in Oakhurst which was convenient for dinners. My favorite was Round Table Pizza carry out for pizza and movie night at the VRBO! All in all we had a fantastic stay. Highly recommend this place!!

A great home to build great memories

I really liked the cleanliness of the home. It was apparent as soon as you walk in. The communication with the host was attentive and welcoming. The kids had a great time at the home. If the kids have a good time, and can have a great nights rest, then it’s a great stay!

Spacious, well-equipped Magical Getaway House

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Ponderosa Chalet. The hosts were very communicative and available to answer any questions. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio and grilling in the evenings. The sunsets and stargazing from the cozy hot tub were memorable highlights of the trip! We’d definitely return, and highly recommend for families seeking a spacious house for get togethers.

Best Sunset in a Quite Hillside Neighborhood

This property is tastefully decorated and was clean upon arrival. The communication ahead of our visit was great too. The best part is the patio area that faces West and has an unbeatable sunset view, a hot tub, fire pit and outdoor dining table. The only bummer - not the fault of the house - is the bugs at dusk. Several of us were bitten multiple times in one night. Bring bug spray! The garage-turned-game room was a bonus as well. There are some board games on hand but we didn’t see just a regular deck of cards that we wished we had packed. I highly recommend this house if you are coming to the area. We spent one day renting a boat on Bass Lake and another day renting a UTV from Yosemite Adventures and the location was convenient to both. We decided not to go to Yosemite NP because we kept reading about the crowds this summer, so I cannot comment on the accessibility from this location.

Chilling Outside of Yosemite

Quiet location where you can sit in the hot tub under the Milky Way after hiking and climbing in Yosemite. If you still have energy, you can goof around in the play room. Nice to sit outside and eat and watch the bats and the sunset from the deck is pretty epic.

Great place to stay for families

Beautiful views, comfortable beds and an overall great place to stay! Roads are a little tricky getting to the property so it would be good planning to arrive during the day and avoid having to drive at night. Restaurants in town close at 8, so plan accordingly if you will be eating out. Hosts were responsive and property is well kept. Overall, nice accomodations.

Enjoyable Getaway

The cabin is perfect for a weekend retreat. It’s located in the wilderness but just a 10 minute drive to Starbucks. (I drove by several deer on my trip to grab a morning Mocha!). This was my first trip to the area so the welcome packet of information was very helpful.

Nice stay

Large space, beautiful sunsets. It’s a 30 minute drive to the south entrance of Yosemite but over an hour to the main entrance (where we spend most of our time). Close to a grocery store, restaurants, shops and a brewery. Place was great, spacious. Bathroom showers could use updating. They also had an ant problem so we could not keep any of our food out on the counter and the ants even made it up into the cabinet’s even when all our food was enclosed. I did have a question for the property manager when we were getting ready to check out but did not get a response. Instead I just received the very generic automatic messages. But overall nice place to stay.
