The space
First and foremost, this is a large cottage both indoors and out. You have 20 acres of exploration. Right on Lake Muskoka, I have yet to stay at a cottage with sandy and slow access to the lake. I cannot express enough, this cottage has everything your family requires during your stay.
Our bright red door is the perfect welcome. There you will access the smartlock for self check in. Immediately to your left, there is a powder room and mud room to leave your luggage and jackets before exploring the property.
From the big staircase you will walk into the open concept kitchen, and dining room lined with bright windows to lake views. From there you can go out onto the deck to see the large backyard, and slow sandy access to the water. There is lots of grassy areas to play and a big dock from the boathouse for cannon balls. We also have a brand new large BBQ for cooking.
Fabulous play structure for the kids with swings, a slide, a climbing wall and tire swing. The tucked away bunkie is equipped with a queen bed and ac. In the spring and fall, there are also heaters available for at night when sleeping.
Our massive cottage has three large bedrooms upstairs and a very large 4-piece bathroom. Our large jacuzzi tub has lake-views in case you were hoping to take a nice hot bubble bath after settling in. The primary and second bedroom both have breathtaking lake views as well.
The downstairs bedrooms are found in the bright basement with walk-out / immediate access to the backyard. The basement not being underground was designed with bright windows to allow for ample sunshine. The basement has a 3-piece bathroom. The french doors provide access the backyard and lake in case you wanted to jump into the lake before your evening slumber. Our piano is also located in the basement common area.
If you'd also like access to the bunkie (bedroom #6) for extra sleeping arrangements please do let us know. Please note at this time the bunkie has very limited heating. We do not recommend using it during the winter months.
There is laundry on site and you are welcome to use it during your stay. There are also lots of towels and beach towels in the laundry area.
There are extras in basement as well like a dog PDA, tools, and an air pump. If used, be sure to put everything back in it's place.
The water is drinkable and filtered. It's delicious in my opinion. The massive games room has two TVs, a ping pong and pool table. The record player has fantastic records to play and the heated floors come in handy in the winter.
Guest access
The address will be provided 24 hours prior to check in. A smart lock is on site and a code will be texted to you the day of check in. You have the whole property (all 20 acres) to yourself during your stay.
Other things to note
The pictures do not do this cottage justice. It is large and bright. Our dinning room table is huge and can accommodate large groups. It is also very private as there are no close neighbours other than across the lake.
The cottage is air-conditioned and features a kitchen, 2.5 bathrooms, and a balcony. There's space to spread out with 6 bedrooms and a dining area. Guests can expect to find free WiFi and a Smart TV with a DVD player. Other standard amenities include a washing machine, a fireplace, and a coffee maker.

This was a lovely property that was perfect for our family gathering. Ashley was super helpful throughout the process as well and easily reached if needed. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quiet retreat in beautiful surroundings.
We are so thankful for Alvaro who hosted our big family gathering. The cottage is so clean and nice, with very pretty views of the lake and colourful trees in the fall season. Property was well managed, and everyone had a great time. Definitely recommend staying here!!
Our entire family loved this property. Location was 10/10 and the home was spacious and well laid out so we all felt comfortable - we were a large family group. Amenities were thoughtful so it felt like a hotel stay. Our property manager was super responsive.
We booked this property for a large family gathering from 3 countries. Four children and a teenager were included in the group. The house suited our needs in terms of sleeping arrangements, space for kids to play (including a games room and children’s adventure play area), excellent dining at a huge table, safe water environment for all and areas to find peace and quiet away from everyone. We especially enjoyed the two docks, the water mat and kayaks and enjoyed the fire pit. This was an excellent holiday primarily because of a beautiful stress free environment! Would highly recommend for large family groups.
I booked this lakehouse to enjoy with two other families, and we are all gushing about how perfect this choice was. The house was gorgeous and had everything we might need; plenty of clean fluffy towels, comfy beds, and all kinds of entertainment. We had kids of all ages, from 2-17 and everyone had a blast. The little ones hopped all day on the floaty water-mat on the lake, and the older kids kayaked and used the paddle board. In the evenings we all played pool and ping pong while the kids watched movies in the family room. Overall it was an super fun and memorable experience. We can’t wait to return again next summer!

The biggest selling point for this place is that it can accommodate a big group - lots of space and great games room. It was fairly clean though some utensils, cutting boards etc were not so clean. I also stepped on some broken glass on the floor - main level and basement. The outdoor space really needs love. The deck off the boathouse is so worn that boards are coming up, nails are poking out and it’s ripe for splinters (my son got one). I picked up a garbage bag full of animal poop on the lawn so my kids could play there and we found three empty propane tanks for the BBQ. When we messaged the host, his phone number didn’t work and he eventually said that he wasn't in the area to help us. Wouldn’t stay there again but it could work for a group of adults if you can look past those things.
Our family had an absolutely amazing vacation at this cottage! It was the perfect getaway for us, especially with our young kids. The property's expansive grounds offered a great space for the kids to play and explore, and the playground was a huge bonus.
Without a doubt, the highlight of the property was the beautiful dock. It quickly became our favourite spot to spend our days, and the kids had a blast playing on the lily pad.
We can't praise Ashley enough; she was an incredible host. Her responsiveness and attentiveness made us feel right at home, and she made sure all our needs were met during our stay.
The cottage was thoughtfully stocked with everything we could possibly need. It was a welcomed relief not having to worry about missing essentials.
Another major plus was the cottage's convenient proximity to everything. Whether it was grabbing groceries or heading in to Bala or Port Carling, everything was just a short distance away.
Despite the shallow surroundings, renting a boat and having access to the boat house was another amazing perk.
All in all, our experience at this cottage was fantastic. It catered perfectly to our family's needs and provided us with unforgettable memories. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a summer retreat, and we can't wait to return for another memorable vacation!
Thank you, Ashley for your hospitality and providing us with such a wonderful place!
We get together yearly and have been doing so for 42 years. There are usually 12 of us. Years ago we shared double beds etc and brought blow up mattresses. As we get older we don’t really want to do that. It’s hard to find accommodation that provides individual beds. This cottage provided that challenge for us. That being said, we loved the dining room area, and the kitchen was workable- especially liked the double refrigerators. . We enjoyed the fire pit area even though we did not have a fire. It was sunny on Saturday and we enjoyed the deck. We found the basement area cold, and the lighting dim on the main floor. Surprised that there was not a larger living room space and/ or a fireplace. We found the glasswear very minimal so we actually purchased a dozen wine glasses and donated them to the cottage. Bunkie was comfortable. Overall we are a group that are fortunate enough to have access to cottages and lakeside living, but once a year we love to be together under the same roof in a space that can accommodate all. We may keep this cottage in mind for a return visit. I personally live in Huntsville so the distance for me was perfect!
The property is beautiful, on an idyllic inlet. However, there were cleanliness and upkeep issues that made me feel like we had seriously overpaid for our stay, including but not limited to:1. The kitchen was dirty (dirt smeared on the cupboards, full coffee filter, a filthy apron stuffed in a cupboard) and not restocked (e.g., no tea towels or dish cloths)2. Wood rot on the back deck and dock including at least one large hole on the dock hidden under a chair. This frankly is a safety hazard.3. The laundry room was in disarray, sheets everywhere and the washer/dryer pulled out from the wall. 4. The basement sofabed was so bent we couldn't use itTo his credit, when I emailed Alvaro he replied the next day and offered to send cleaners. However, he asked that I send him photos before he do this (surprisingly difficult to do on the VRBO app). By the time this had been sorted out the trip was over. RE the structural damage, Alvaro said he knew about the holes in the dock (but did not warn us about them). He said he didn't know about the bent sofabed. This all leads me to believe that the property is not being inspected for general wear and tear and damage isn't being repaired in a timely way.I would overlook most of these issues if we hadn't paid so much. I did price comparisons in the region and there are better managed options available for a comparable price. Before committing to staying I recommend confirming that these problems are addressed.
