Normally, I would have rated this a unique and exceptional trip. Our granddaughter was coming to visit us for the first time. However, I contracted COVID three days before check-in and everything had to be cancelled. I contacted the property owner immediately. To be fair to them the cancellation policy was stated and accurate. I told them I was quarantining and would like to reschedule for the safety of the staff and the community. The response was essentially “come quarantine with us” and indicated that no option of refund or rescheduling was available. We did that rather than forfeit the entire amount. We did not visit any common areas, and spent most of time in the cabin. The cabin itself was beautiful. I do understand business's have to have policies and make money, but sometimes common sense as well as dollar and cents have to come into play. I simply wish communication with the host would have been more considerate and kind, instead of seeming harsh and uncaring. Otherwise, the stay would have been magical.
