It is centrally located in Amish country and quite. The rooms are big and clean and they serve a hot breakfast in the morning. They also have a salt water pool and hot tub which we enjoyed. In the rooms we had a microwave and mini fridge which was a bonus for us.
Arrived late and left early the following morning. Friendly and professional welcome, smooth check in, clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty and the hotel was secure. What more could you ask? I would stay again.
Nice hotel. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was standard fare: eggs and bacon, waffles, cereal, oatmeal, breads, fruit, etc. The best part was the indoor pool. It was actually warm enough to swim in, and the hot tub was nice and hot. Beds were firm, rooms were clean. A very nice place, right in the midst of Amish country. A very enjoyable stay.
The Comfort Inn is a good, lower-priced hotel. It was a little further from Berlin than I'd anticipated, but it wasn't a bad drive. The staff was extremely helpful with recommendations about places to eat and attractions to see. My room had a pretty nice view; even though it was on the side where there was another building, there were trees and a nice grassy area to look out on. The bed was comfortable, and once I actually looked around, there were plenty of electrical outlets for all the gadgets. I also like the fact that they don't automatically replace linens every day by default; they will do it if you want them to, but their standard procedure is to just remake the bed & re-fold the towels, which is fine with me. The breakfast is, as others have said, standard hotel fare. But I did like that they offered Greek yogurt and hard boiled eggs, and that fruit and hot beverages are always available. The pool and hot tub were kind of small but well-maintained. The night I used it, there was a party of some sort, so because there were so many kids in the pool, I only used the hot tub. I appreciated that there were towels for use there as well.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Breakfast is the standard hot breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon one day, sausage the next, waffles, etc. Close to fast food, Wal-Mart and other shopping. Not far from downtown. Close to the Holmes County Trail. Fridge and microwave in the room.
Hotel is perfect. Quick check in. Rm very clean and quiet. Pool area was clean water warm. Good location for shopping and visiting Amish country. Would be nice to have more outside seating. Breakfast was very good and we'll stocked
Check in was a breeze the room was clean and neat. The bed was very comfortable which is what we came for a restful nights sleep. The staff was very attentive. Did not participate in breakfast so can not report on that. When in the area will stay again
We came here for 3 nights with our travel softball team, 3 of the family's came early to enjoy the area I booked a total of 17hights for all our family's staying, we had an easy check in, rooms are very nice clean, pool area very nice, the breakfast was small but decent, loved the fresh donuts, but the afternoon and evening staff was about as rude as you could get, on Friday evening after we returned from exploring the area we enjoyed the pool/hot tub when other family's arrived we went out into the breakfast/meeting area and we were all talking having a good time, we did get yelled at very rudely to quit down, mind you this was only like 7:30pm, but she yelled and used hand gestures towards us, so we respectfully took our party outside to the bench's in the smoking area and enjoyed our friends, while we were out there 2 of the workers walked over to the area we had been and acted like we had down something terrible! One of our member's who had been in the hot tub had sat on the cushion of a chair in is wet suit, well you would have thought he peed on it..........OMG.....they carried the cushion like they were afraid to touch it along with the chair into another room, our kids were scared to enter the lobby at this point, when they did they were greeted by the same front desk clerk that yelled at us, and she yelled at them, they told her it was wet only from the swimsuit and being in the hot tub, then she came back outside to smoke.......and while she and the other lady working were outside smoking she gave us more hand gesture's and again yelled at us to not sit on the furniture in wet suits..........needless to say I will not return here, there are too many nicer places in the area fro me to stay and I surely will not recommend this to anyone
Had the pleasure of staying at this pristine property. It is apparent that the management takes great pride in this hotel by providing their guests with updated accommodations that are clean, very comfortable, quiet, conveniently located to area attractions & shopping, and boasts a whirlpool in addition to an indoor pool. The complimentary full breakfast is also an added bonus. The front desk staff were most pleasant and accommodating. All in all, we enjoyed a highly favorable experience.
This is the perfect launching pad for doing anything in Holmes County Amish/Mennonite places. Literally 4 minutes from the city of Berlin, and nearFlea Markets (2), there are so many small shops with specialty flood, clothing, books, Crafts, and many Amish made comforters! The restaurants are various, in Berlin, with Cindy's Diner fir dogs and burgers, to Boyd and Wurthman hot sandwiches, to Family style and buffet style, near the motels/hotels. A leisurely stroll up and down Berlin's streets will find you cheese shops to an old time toy store, where your can find stuff from your past, to crafts, and stuffs to fill your hone garden or home with. Take a tour of Yoder's Amish Homes and livestock barn!. One note of caution: remember that Amish and Mennonite families love traditional hours, so about 99% of things close by 5pm. You'll just have to deal with being a "family of the past", and plan your days and every inn vs accordingly. Look up Mrs. YODERS Kitchen restaurant as a great place to eat. If you are lucky enough to visit the area during school year, you just may catch a glimpse of the kids playing ball in the playground! Even if you don't, the drive through the countryside is gorgeous!
